Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 14, 2009 2:59 pm Hi! Whats everyones thoughts on this combination? Roof - Monument Gutters - Monument Fascia - White Windows - White Render - Dune Garage Door - Monument Front Door - Timber - with timber slat feature on entry portico too! Do you think the Monument goes well with Dune Render? Or can you suggest a different colour render to match the monument roof? My Partner likes Woodland Grey better then Mounment - but i feel WG has a real green tinge too it and not sure if u like it? Would WG look better with Dune, and the white trims? Thanks! Re: Colorbond Monument Roof - Dune Render???? Thoughts? 2Sep 14, 2009 5:28 pm I've got monument gutters, fascias, and roller door with onyx (black) roof shingles. We picked paperbark for the main render, and ecru for the columns. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Did a quick render of it here. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Your timber doors would look nicer than the paperbark doors i've got above I reckon. Although I plan on painting the doors to monument after handover (apparently my builder won't do dark colours as they reckon the heat they attract voids the warranty from the manufacturer). Thoughts? 3Sep 15, 2009 6:40 pm I know it's a personal choice - but I'm going to have to side with your partner on this one - re: woodland grey. I used it on my last build and it is much more dark grey than green. In fact if you pointed out a house with woodland grey roof and asked your uninformed friend 'what colour would you say that is' - the will say dark grey. Then you ask 'what tinge do you think that has'. Firstly your friend will give you a strange look and think 'what's this love affair with a roof colour' then realising you won't drop the issue they will answer... but probably won't pick the green tinge. To me, WG looks very similar to a discontinued colour - slate grey. Very much grey not green. We are using woodland grey again on this build for the roof with monument gutters. I can't say anything specific about your combination with dune render and white windows. We are going primose windows (creamish) and pale biscuit render (like classic cream) with mid biscuit quoins/basework/keystones (a darker version of classic cream, possibly like dune). Edit: I think the reason WG roof looks grey not green is the reflection from the sky / clouds. On the other hand if you look at a WG fence, it does actually look more dark green than grey. I wonder if it's because it is reflecting dirt/grass/etc rather than the sky/clouds. Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10475 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 20677 Were struck with: Colorbond Ironstone Grey roof and cream windows. What color should we render and paint the garage door to tone down the cream windows? Farm House, will… 0 30986 |
