Our land was being subdivided from our parents and did not get titled into our name until 3 months ago. Oour builder (lovely man) is finally able to start work for us and we just had to pay an extra 5000 for costs which have risen in 12 months. I think it is more jsut a risk for you if you sign with someone and then an issue arises with the land title. Though one thing we did have to do was prove to our builder that the land was in our name but by then we had still already signed and paid deposit.
