I've noticed a few posts people saying they asked their electrician/painter/tiler etc on-site to add extras in for them as cash-in-hand jobs - is this a generally accepted practice?
Are most tradies happy to oblige?
How do you approach them?
Do your builders care if they come in and see extra work has been done not by them or not in your building plans?? I'm not like going to get in trouble or anything am I? (it feels so **!)
I'm trying to decide whether its best to get downlights through the big builder or pay separately...builder is offering 20 downlights for $1870 installed, is that a good price??
Would also like a feature wall in each of the kids rooms and possibly in the lounge room also (havent picked colours yet) - is it possble to get the painter to do it for cash??
Cheers
