Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 26, 2011 12:11 pm Well, had our final inspection with our independent building inspector and our SS and all relatively ok. We've got a fairly major issue with discolouration of the bricks which the SS and his QA guy has noticed on our home and others with the same brick. The independent inspector has seen it also and suggested some neutralise the bricks to prevent this from happening. At Studio M we weren't told about this, and now I'm not sure what to do, however if you do want to go with this brick, be warned that this may happen. We will contact Bo?al to see what they suggest. The SS said we may have to buy something to put on it, like a sealer, however I can't see why I should have to pay for this... our cream/orange house is turning green instead! Any thoughts? Re: Bo?al Sandybeach - warning! 4Aug 26, 2011 10:48 pm If it's Vanadium staining it's easy to clean (bleach from memory, but look it up). but do not acid wash the bricks first as this locks in the Vanadium staining. Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Bo?al Sandybeach - warning! 5Aug 26, 2011 11:27 pm Thanks, Kyton, buzz and Casa2 for your replies Will bring it up with the SS on Monday and attempt to get them to do the clean.
