Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 08, 2009 11:05 pm Hello There, I need your valuable experience for new home building on Cooling/heating System, BBQ set's gas point in outdoor and rainwater tank for gardening. Any suggestion would be great!.. 1. I am building with Porter Davis- they said i can add the cooling system after home is completed and it will cheaper? i m doubt about it. 2. Should i get a natural gas point at outdoor for the BBQ set 3. rainwater tank for gardening? any idea. Also, i need to know 2.5mm insulation is enough for protecting heat and cold or should i upgrade to 3.5mm insulation? any idea about wood frame structure of the house (width and thickness of wood i should use for better house? Porter Davis didn't mention whether the standard tiles are Ceramic or Porcelain tiles? which one better. Please guys share your experience cheers Tania Re: Cooling System, Garage door, BBQ set's gas point in outdoor, 2Sep 08, 2009 11:17 pm Hi Im also building and its still not started yet. title on march 2010.PD cumberland 21 Access range anyways not sure about the water tank because if you getting recycle water u maybe dont want it depends on the estate though prices quoted from PD gas point to the alfresco $219 extra recycle water tap not sure how much yet i think its around $259 PD only give 1 either fron or back make sure you place all the water pipeline for evaporative cooling if you thinking to add a evaporative cooling im doing it. its i think around $200 - $219 (its always cheaper to do later cooling system and you get a better powerful one than PD one) Im planing to install the cooling system later. cheers Re: Cooling System, Garage door, BBQ set's gas point in outdoor, 4Sep 10, 2009 7:34 am Hi Tania, We are building a PD Marina. My tip would be not to add insulation until your Contract appointment. They have to give you 5 stars energy rating and they don't get the report until after tender. We were going to upgrade but decided to wait(we took ours out at Tender). They then upgraded to r4.0 in the ceiling and r1.5 in the walls (which is more than we were going to do) saved us heaps!
