Hi all,
I am trying to get in before the first home owners grant finishes. Any tips on who to build with? I live in Perth NOR.
Thanks all.

We started talking to our builder 3 months ago and signed the PPA in June - still havent signed the contract........ If you take something off the shelf and dont change any part of it, you may be lucky, but I think with most builders when you start making changes and they need to be drawn and priced you are looking at a couple of weeks and that is before you get anywhere near a contract. Good luck! Where is your block? I have complained a little. But for the most part its been fine. We are just at the start of the build stage now so will see how that goes. You would have to move pretty damn quick now to get the full amount of FHOG as it takes awhile to get your contract. Though they may take to doing it up before plans. Good luck. Kat Re: Who to build with in Perth 8Sep 10, 2009 7:11 pm Well I've found out that I can't get a loan until I've been at my job for 6 months and I've only been working at the place for 1 and a half months. My partner on the other hand might have a chance of getting the 14K FHOG because she has been at her work for about 3 months now. I got a lot of info off Paul Ovens at Blueprint Homes. He seemed to be really good and knew what he was talking about. Definitely not pushy as he was saying that I didn't even need to build my home through them. Probably a selling point. He told me that places like Affordable Living and HomeBuyersCentre get you to sign up a contract and then after the prestart they don't really care for you much at all. So far Blueprint Homes seems to be the one for us but please let me know if there are better ones out there. Re: Who to build with in Perth 9Sep 10, 2009 8:43 pm Hi Tiazak, We are going with Blueprint and have found them very good to deal with. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22916 Re: Who to build with in Perth 10Sep 10, 2009 9:37 pm I went with Gemmill - paperwork stage was a bit hairy and stressful but my house is amazing and I actually think it might be perfect but I will wait to PCI to say for sure! I think they closed FHOG/Buyers applications for all their companies (Big Value, Goodlife and Gemmill) at the end of August. You could always ask though! *Built with Gemmill Homes in WA* Slab - 1st June 2009 Plate Height - 17th June 2009 Lock Up - 18th August 2009 PCI - 5th October 2009 Hand Over - 15th Oct 2009 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20844 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17646 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13121 1 11016 |
