House has GRAFFITI day before Xmas :( 152Jan 01, 2010 1:06 am Jose27 I'm not sure what punishment suits the crime but I would like to have them stand in front of the graffiti on my home and have there picture taken with it. Then I would make them wear a hat and a t-shirt with that exact picture on the hat and t-shirt. They would then have to wear the hat and t-shirt everyday for a year. That should let everyone know what they did, what it looked like and then everyone could see them for what sort of kids/people they really are. Sounds good and hopefully down grading for them. I've heard something like that before... in the USA or something. Criminals are made to wear shirts that signposts what they did (e.g. SHOPLIFTER). Maybe they can get something in the lines of "I draw graffiti on walls"! How embarrassing would that be! Re: Jose & Henry's Home. He doesn't really understand his generation. Thanks Macy, the kids nowadays just don't seem to think about anyone but themselves lynnebin1968 Macy Jose27 I can't understand what makes kids tick in today's world. In my day if you did anything like that to other people's property you wouldn't have done it in the first place. (you would have more than just had your *** kicked) We were taught to respect other people's property and the old saying "do unto those as they would do to you" (something like that). So sorry about what happened. My son expressed his disgust at the broken windows in a nearby new estate years ago. He doesn't really understand his generation. Yup same with my son, he's 23 and can't believe what these little so and so's get up to. If they get caught it's just a slap on the wrist and they leave court laughing...make em scrub it clean, fix the windows clean up the glass I say Yes lynnebin1986, the punishment never really seems to fit the crime unless you live in Bali! They tend to really give them the right punishment and a bit more. Funny though how some people don't seem to care about the laws in Bali and still try to get away with things they shouldn't do. (you might get this reply in a PM also...didn't know what I was doing). I am in Tassie and looking to build a small place for my retirement in mid 2010. I have built before, but have been checking out builds on this site to get ideas on what i want in this house. It is only small but will be eco sustainable and I need a mass that will assist with heating/cooling and concrete is the best thing unless I have a stone wall in the house. I like the idea of polished concrete. As it will be my final home I want to have the best of everything but also easy to look after but have double glazing, water tank, grey water dispersal system, etc. etc. Thanks once again and good luck for your future in your lovely new home. I have found that people who do that sort of thing to your house have a severe case of envy (one of the deadly sins )...just remember Karma!!!!! Carolyn (Tassie) Caromac, your place sounds like somewhere I would like to live. We have tried to do some of the eco things but not as much as we should. We did not go with the double glazed windows, we cannot do the grey water as in the estate we are in has it's own sewerage plant and is recycled back to the bird islands so that the plants etc are maintained for the bird life that habitat the little islands. We are having rainwater tanks and any left over goes straight back into the fresh water lagoons. Things like water recycling, plant and wildlife are the main focus in this estate which I think is great. We have been very interested in Solar Power and looks like it will have to wait until after we move in. The prices change just about every week! Yes, karma will one day bite them on the behind when they are least expecting it. PCI Done Re: Jose & Henry's Home. How about the crime they did tattooed on their forehead? PCI Done Re: Jose & Henry's Home. Water in SA is very hard to come by. We need to use it the best way we can. The SS was on site today to see the painting that took place on 24/12/09. He is a bit concerned as he does not think that it is gloss paint. He said he actually thinks its waterproofing - you know the stuff they put on the walls and base in the showers. It's one of those things that needs to be assessed by a painter and hopefully it can be removed by solvents. If that doesn't work well, I'm not sure what will happen next. When the local high schools open up, make an appointment with the principal and take a copy of the pictures of the graffiti. Normally then, staff will show the tags to other students and you will be amazed at how many kids are soooooo ready to tell you who did the handywork At our school, it only takes approx 30 secs to find out who did the damage....local kids and schools in the area are your greatest wealth of information when it comes to tracking down teenage criminals Mrs B We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds.
