Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Garage Question 2Sep 08, 2009 8:58 pm Hey Brad, My block is only 16.2m wide so I was only able to extend the garage by 1.2m in width. (I also made a store area at the rear of the garage 1.8m x 3.5m). To do this it cost just under 6k. They had a rate per square metre, but this may be different if you are extending the area over a certain amount. The 3rd car garage is pretty useless for a car, unless its a small car like a Toyota Starlet or similar. If used for storage then any extra room is a bonus! Re: Garage Question 3Sep 08, 2009 9:03 pm Brad, We extended 4m of the garage out by 600mm so that we can create like linen style storage area. We have also split it into 2 sections. This cost us in the vicinity of $2.5k. We put extra space on both sides of the garage this time around, not sure of the cost due to the fact we designed the house that way from the start. Plus having a larger garage is a great for resale. (not that Im in a hurry to go down that path anytime soon.
