Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 07, 2009 9:33 pm Hello folks Its great i found out this website. I have a question for you all. Iam building 20 squares home with burbank in wallan. I have signed the contract. The contract specified construction period of 260 days. Is it normal? When contacted burbank told it's the same for all clients. Is it true? Re: Burbank construction period 2Sep 07, 2009 9:44 pm Hi visu79, Yeah, 260 days seems right for some builders. I'm building with a different builder in Craigieburn, and my contract states 270 days. Some of the homes on this forum go from site scrape to move-in in just a few months.... and others take over a year It seems like a long time, but you might get lucky and they'll get it done quickly. Cheers, Paul Re: Burbank construction period 3Sep 07, 2009 11:48 pm I'm with them too. I was worried about that. I've since been told by people outside of Burbank that it's 260 days for every house they build, one storey, two storey doesn't matter. If you haven't made many structural changes they can prefabricate and speed up the build time. My house is about the same size. 4 months build time is what they usually take from everything I've read here and elsewhere. If it goes over Christmas/New Years you can add a month or two. I'm building out west, Bacchus Marsh. Gravity. Its the law. If time is a major concern for you, some builders offer guaranteed short build times (I think some say 18 weeks - i.e. 126 days). But as you've signed your contract, that's irrelevant. you need to understand the breakdown of warranties. 90 warranty is considered as minor defects rectification period where as the longer ones are more major/structural… 1 3871 Hi All, Recently we have signed a contract with Burbank and we are not aware that they have just DORSET, SURREY, HAMPSHIRE, KENT, PILBARA and REDGUM bricks from PGH are… 0 1188 because its not being managed properly.
