Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 07, 2009 6:16 pm In WA you have to have the R3 batts in the ceiling but as far as I'm aware no foil or anticon is required under the tin to prevent condensation. I dont fancy my ceiling being damp but dont know how severe it would be if we didnt get this special insulation. We are probably going with the dark Woodland Grey so it would probably be better to double up on insulation. But how much do builders charge? - or try to charge I should say! We had a builder friend advise us we should consider getting it but because it wasn't a requirement our BSC who has it at his house and said he wished he hadn't bothered, reckoned it wasn't that important. and DH decided not to spend the $. From memory think it was somewhere between 2000 and 2500 to do our house but it might have been a bit more. ( guess from BSC at the time. Sorry it was 16 months ago and too hard to remember now. ) Re: Colorbond - did you get extra insulation? 4Sep 07, 2009 9:32 pm I'm not an expert on these things - but if what you are referring to is also called 'sarking' - it is also only an option in Victoria. It is costing me an extra $1500. You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 17655 Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10181 |
