Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Franklin - With Rossdale 161May 07, 2010 11:27 am Flooring guy started yesterday. We should see some bamboos on the floor by the end of today. He tells me should be finished by Tuesday and then we will have our very own complete house (indoors anyway). Still have plenty to do outside. I'm thinking of getting some gravel on our driveway as I'm not sure when we'll be able to start our paving and it's been pretty wet lately. shoes gets pretty muddy. The house is still in a bit of a mess in the photo but since we have tidied up and last night had our first entertainning of guests. It's great to be able to host again! Re: Building Franklin - With Rossdale 165May 17, 2010 7:39 pm It's just beautiful Saoye. You continue to keep my hopes up that I might have a house one day. Blessings to you in your new home. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Building Franklin - With Rossdale 166May 18, 2010 11:52 am Thanks Somewoman and Robinred, Hang in there the both of you. Somewoman, I assure you the wait is worth it. My Dad's house (also the Majestic) is like a hotel resort especially the master bedroom. It's just massive, bigger than some living rooms. But my living/dining and kitchen area is bigger than the Majestics ofcourse that was the one thing I aimed to do at the beginning was to have a huge living area. You do have more rooms though, and an upstairs. Robinred, you're with Rossdale so don't fret too much. Once they begin building it's actually much faster than you'll expect. Also, their after hand over service is actually quite good. The plumber they used is not the best though but they fix what's not right pretty quickly once you tell them what's wrong. Our King size mattress is coming tomorrow morning!!! I can't wait to sleep in the master bedroom. still in the guestroom on our old queen which is comfortable ofcourse but we have a king size bed without a mattress not being utilised. I've used the spa a hand full of times now and love it. The bamboo floor is also fantastic under foot. No cold tiles for me Can't wait till thursday when all the carpet ends are finished off properly and we don't have carpet hanging over the entrance. then it will look like the finished product. Oops...I think I mixed up somewoman with Tamdaz...it was Tamdaz that's building the Majestic wasn't it? sorry about that. Yes Saoye, it's me with the Majestic, but I still read your message aswell. I agree the main bedroom will feel like a resort, but with a little one now on the way, at least we'll have plenty of room for a bassinet and chair for feeding. Your bamboo floor looks fantastic! As for things being out of place in the pics, we all understand what everyday living is like, and what's more look forward to being in our new homes even with mess over the wait to get in there. We constantly get comments about our fantastic bamboo flooring and our massive open plan living area. It does feel roomy. We have put up the front fence with a roller gate, and one of the side fence (1.8m good neighbour in Ridge grey). Our paver is a little on the lazy side (somewhat over weight too) but he did a great job with my dad's property so we'll stick with him. It took him 3 months to do dad's place and it's already been a month and a half and he's only prepared the site. He's also putting in the retaining wall and fence on the other side of the house. Hopefully by the end of this week the other fence will be up because we're feeling a little exposed especially being on a corner block. looks rather silly with a front fence and gate with no side fence on a corner block. We're waiting on our back neighbour to respond to our request to pull down the delapitated back fence (panels rusted and the wood posts all rotted). I actually got an email today saying they are checking other quotes which is fine by me. I'll post some pics when I get the chance. speaking of pics, recently been very interested in Digital SLRs since a recent wedding I attended and all my friends were equipped with Nikon 5000D. DW has flatly refused me one for my b'day...sigh! End Feb 09-Deposit and paperwork Nov 09-Slab! Dec 10-Frames End Jan 10-Roof/Brick Feb 10-Lockup! First photo shows the previous wrong kanga colour and second photo is the after correction. It's so much better now. Before we had a totally different colour to our garage...unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the pinky kanga with the garage installed, but physically it was a little of an eye sore. You might not see it as it seems to be ok in the photo but you just feel a lot more relaxed with the colour matching. Yes, it was totally the wrong tint. the painter and ss tried to convince me that it's just different when looking on a chip versus in the sun on larger surface etc but it was sooo different from the kanga I had in mind that I insisted they contact Solver paint. So they got them out and they agreed with me that it was off. No where near it in fact. I put the chip up against it and you can clearly see how different it was. Anyway, I'm happy with the correct kanga. Just for the record there is no pink in kanga! Not even a hint! Just goes to show you have to stick to your guns especially when you know you're correct. Don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise. End Feb 09-Deposit and paperwork Nov 09-Slab! Dec 10-Frames End Jan 10-Roof/Brick Feb 10-Lockup! We are building at the moment. and render colours are doing my head in. we first selected pewter... and we HATE it. so we are getting the painter to repaint it for us. went to the solver shop the other day and i quite like kanga, even got a free sample pot Another H1 buddie sent me a link to your page. I nearly died when i saw the first pic, then scolled down to the second and i was like.. thats better!!!! I dont want anything with pink tones in it at all.
