Btw our toilet window is also a little off and we were told the same thing about the bricks Just a quick update! Hubby just told me that the plumbing is in, our guard rails are up & the roof tiles are just sitting there all alone So just waiting patiently now to see how they are going to look with the guttering! We noticed this tile has a crack right through the center. I have already emailed our CSC about it. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Has anyone else chosen the Trilock Lever for there front door? Im just not sure if they have installed the correct locking mechanism on the frame! I wasn't sure if the door handle was as long as this looks to be! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ As you can see the bricks have been delivered already But nearly every palette has a whole row of cracked bricks I also mentioned this in the email to the CSC. I feel like Im being anal but Id rather bring these things to there attention now than have delays later if things need to be fixed! Our roof is pretty much done, we've been wrapped & have a look at our bricks The bricks don't look like I thought they would though I was expecting them to be darker but DH did say that once they are washed they may look darker. We met the brickie today, he was working all alone so he said the job could take him about 17days to complete. Im not fussed as long as they are done properly It was a pretty sunny day today so the bricks look light in this picture but darker in the next when the clouds where coming up. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also, I cant get over how light the roof tiles look compared to the guttering. Iv always said things happen for a reason so thank god they didn't have black guttering available! It just would have been to much! Re: Another Santorini 26 M*tricon-Tiles&Wrapping&Bricks Oh My! 111Oct 31, 2009 5:46 pm Hi Shelz, how did you go with the SS about the little problems that you picked up? I selected the same width door as yourself, I thought the cost to go for the largest width was a major jump and I didn't think it was as good value for money. I forget to ask about the extra height though, oops! I didn't get the tri-lock handle as the consultant told me that it was cheaper to upgrade this later myself. As you say, as long up the brickie does a good job, who cares if it takes a little longer! Re: Another Santorini 26 M*tricon-Tiles&Wrapping&Bricks Oh My! 112Nov 01, 2009 6:13 pm Hels It's looking really good I love the really dark roof and we nearly chose it for our house. That front door height is awesome too. Thanx Hels Just a quick question I had a look at your thread and was wondering what made you decide on the split system air con? The only reason I ask is that we'r not sure whether to go split system or evaporative our selves. Iv had evaporative in one of the rentals we lived in but found it didn't really do much on those really hot days but then Iv been told that the split system isn't energy efficient! Decisions Decisions Any opinion from anyone for or against regarding air con would be great Jeffsy Hi Shelz, how did you go with the SS about the little problems that you picked up? Hi Jeffsy, They replaced the roof tile asap however no ones has gotten back to me regarding the tri lock locking mechanism Hubby has rang & I have rang but no reply! So we did our own research today and went to good old Bunnings and guess what! Just as we thought the Gainsborough Trilock lever only has one locking thinging (dunno what its called) on the frame not 2! So it looks like they have just gone and added the standard door knob & deadbolt! Maybe thats why no reply from them as yet, maybe they realise they have made a mistake. After going there yesterday, we found a few more things that need to be fixed! If you look closely at the first picture on my last post you will see that on the portico roof to your right where the tile seam is ( again dunno what its called but on the corner where they join the tiles) about the third tile down, the tile is actually brocken! It looks like they have tried to bog it up but it hasn't worked! Also, we noticed the laundry door frame is actually bowed and not level! We weren't going to use an independent inspector but I may just have to give penny77's guy a call. Hubby and I are not experts and we'v already picked up on a few things, id hate to think what iv missed! If you have any reservations about issues about the house I dont think you should hold back. Just get your private inspector to go through at put you mind at ease.
