Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 05, 2009 4:51 pm hey, hubby and i are looking at building our first home and have been looking into Frenken Homes. we have found some good reports and others are not so great so i was wondering if anyone has any one on here built with them and what they were like? cheers Re: Frenken Homes??? 2Sep 05, 2009 9:52 pm I'm sure you'll get other responses but if you're building in Victoria you could try this website http://www.productreview.com.au/showitem.php?item_id=64020 Beware the perfect reviews, the ones with no cons to go with the pros. Usually this is the building trying to raise their own rating. No-one has a perfect build. Gravity. Its the law. My cousin is building with them (Gracie). Their display homes are great. These guys were going to be my backup Builders incase Burbank ****** me around. I would say they're a solid builder to go with. Re: Frenken Homes??? 5Sep 06, 2009 3:39 pm Hi firsttimebuyer13 Our first home was built by Frenken Homes. A little 10sq dwelling. When we sold the house after 15 years the house was in really good condion. No structual damage. I would say go ahead. Re: Frenken Homes??? 6Sep 06, 2009 10:27 pm Why Frenken not.... gosh, so many reasons!!! I say.. dont go to Frenken. No offense to Frenken or their customers.. BUT: - the display homes look unpresentable/unfurnished and looks like a tradesperson has decorated the houses - floorplans are tacky and incredibly simple and not well thought out - sales people are rumoured to be rude and unapproachable - facades are plain and unsophisticated in many ways - with some of the larger designs like Entertainer, your better off going with a more well known builder - even the logo and website seems tacky... why on earth would you dare go to a Frenken display - etc.. But go for it if you feel the need. This is just my view. Its your house! Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! Re: Frenken Homes??? 8Sep 12, 2009 3:00 pm Salt&Pepper - the display homes look unpresentable/unfurnished and looks like a tradesperson has decorated the houses Are you kidding? They don't put furniture in there so you can see exactly what you're getting. I'd have been a happier man if all the builders did this. Quote: - floorplans are tacky and incredibly simple and not well thought out Yeah, because only Frenken's floorplans are tacky. Pfft, every builder has poor floorplans and flaws. A number of Frenken's floorplans are actually really well thought-out. Quote: - sales people are rumoured to be rude and unapproachable **** a brick, should I count the number of times i've heard people on this forum say "The PD salesman is arrogant"? Same with any builder. According to you "rumoured", so you don't actually have any first-hand experience with them. I have, the sales man was a good bloke. Went out of his way to walk me around a house for about 1 hour. Not to mention, he was easy to communicate with and get along with. Quote: - facades are plain and unsophisticated in many ways Each to their own. Quote: - with some of the larger designs like Entertainer, your better off going with a more well known builder Well, that's a solid argument. You've convinced me. Quote: - even the logo and website seems tacky... why on earth would you dare go to a Frenken display Yeah, I'd rather a choose a company with a great logo and website, rather than a house that's built properly. Re: Frenken Homes??? 9Jan 13, 2010 3:03 pm They are prompt with replies on queries and the staff are a pleasure to deal with. They are a "no frills" type building company but still build great homes. Give the "lil guy" a go rather than going for a multinational builder... :_) Re: Frenken Homes??? 10Jan 13, 2010 4:51 pm We're building with Frenken... Just waiting for permits to be issued. No issues at all so far. I will say they may not suit some people as colour selections are quite limited compared to some of the major builders but I found there was still enough choice to keep you busy for several hours. Basically the answers BigRed has responded with sum Frenken up rather well. Re: Frenken Homes??? 11Jan 24, 2010 4:45 pm well after much research we will definitely NOT be building with Frenken Homes. I have found several people who have had too many problems with not only the staff (who were great until they signed contracts and gave a deposit then heard nothing from them) but also with the houses. We went and had a look at their display homes and walked into 3 homes and not one of the sales staff even said hello to us. they just sat there and either stared and one staff had her feet on her desk eating lunch in front of everyone. Not very professional in my opinion. I will be building with a builder who I believe has better quality homes and better staff. Re: Frenken Homes??? 12Jan 24, 2010 5:23 pm We did go looking into frenken homes BUT they never responded to our inquiries and when did finally make it to visiting one of there displays there was a note on the door "back in 10mins" after waiting outside for 15mins we gave the bloke a call, he turned up 5mins later. The display would have been nicer without the bright green and yellow notes on the walls IMO but in the end the display looked very cheap and bit cramped for us. Although the bloke was very nice in sending us the soil report from a couple houses up from us. Just weren't our cup of tea. http://burbankascent2500.blogspot.com/ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28503 [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/] HOUSE COMPLETED IN 119 DAYS PCI Complete Handover 24th August Re: Frenken Homes??? 13Feb 03, 2010 7:22 am They are under the pump and flat out with the influx from first home buyers grants. Would be funny if you had of taken a pic of the post it notes on the door! They are a budget builder and I agree the display houses are very bare but at least you get to see how the houses are done. Re: Frenken Homes??? 14Jun 20, 2015 1:58 pm I built a house from them, it was really good. The guy who I dealed with is excellent. His name is Jay, he gave me very good advises and looked after my property very well. Not like others, after they got deposits & contracts singed, they don't look after your property well & try to ignore the problems. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74719 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
