Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 04, 2009 9:57 am Hi there all Our house built by hen3ey was completed in April 2009. We were really disappointed with the quality of the sliding doors. When we moved in we discovered there was about an 1 1/2 gap between the two sliding parts causing a big wind to come into the house. The handover team told us that was how they were made and that we should put some insulation tape at our own cost in between the gap. We've done this but after a storm last week the water came in a bit as well. Hen3ey have said that this will happen in extreme circumstances and say it is not covered by our warranty. Is this true? Should we complain more? Any suggestions on what we should do would be appreciated? They usually have certain tolerances for gaps etc and should be able to give you some advice. We have one set of French doors which let water in underneath on occasion - only when the rain is very heavy and the wind is blowing strongly from a particular direction. I've never heard of sliding doors doing this though, it seems odd. Re: Problems with new Hen3ey home - advice needed 4Sep 04, 2009 11:57 am Similar situation, although i couldn't see any gap, but winds does come into the house through the door, and i can hear the windy nosie (make my living room very noisy), and the dust come through it and make a mess after the storm My builder came to inspect last weekend and agreed that there is problem with the door (or the seal), so they will contact the supplier to come and fix it I can't see any reason why this is not builder responsibility and/or not covered by the maintenance, you should demand it to be fixed Blog - http://clageonewhouse.blogspot.com/ Building Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10886&hilit=milan I am in, with my husband and my beautiful bunny Hi all, has anyone been ask to do the weeds in their property while in the middle of build?
