Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 03, 2009 11:25 pm I need some help!! Our entrance wall ATM has a mirror on it, just plain Beige Royal 1/4 like the rest of the house. Not too keen on making a painted wall out of it.. Im seriously sick of colourful paint. But the entrance wall really needs something funky, I was thinking stacked stone?? Has anyone got any pictures of stacked stone inside their house or in a display home.. preferably a pic of the entranceway?? The wall is to the right of the front door, goes for about 8 metres until it hits the garage internalaccess door. BTW, no wallpaper either. I was thinking just stacked stone... then a console table with 'colourful' things like vases. Are things able to be hung on stone.. ie paintings/mirrors on the stone???? Any other ideas to jazz up the entry?? The house really needs something because EVERYTHING is white and Im sick of it already LOL. THANKS!! We are going to be doing this shortly to our entrance. Open the front door (swings to the right) then we have our MB door, wall space, leading up to the Laundry. We are going to be putting stack stone on the blank wall as it's the first thing you see when walking through the front door. Re: Photos of STACKED STONE entrances?? 3Sep 04, 2009 9:09 am S&P ..... I like stackstone and I have seen it in magazines internally, but if it were me, in your amazingly gorgeous home, I would be doing a very sexy tiled wall probably metallic silver I have seen such a sexy tile, it's not a perfect tile it has markings on it and it's a biggy and dead sexy Re: Photos of STACKED STONE entrances?? 4Sep 04, 2009 9:11 am We're using stacked stone on our front pillars in the portico and we're now looking at the idea of using it for our barback in the kitchen so i've been researching it alot. We just ordered stackstone to do the two pillars on our portico - only 400mm by 2700mm each. There is over 1.5 tonne of stackstone for this job alone. Tiles as SuH said would also look gorgeous. Something in a really large format. We have a company up here Earp Bros who is just opening a new showroom in Melbourne - they have some amazing tiles (I know trust me everytime I walk into our Newcastle showroom I fall in love with yet another tile). http://www.earp.com.au/enquiries.php If you do look at Stackstone Amber Tiles is having a 20% off sale this weekend - we ordered ours last Wed with them and bargained them to do the discount early - and they threw in free delivery as well. Some things are worth waiting for. SuH, thanks for the idea about the tiled wall, never thought of that. What kind of tiles do you mean.. and any pics? Does anyone know a cheap place to buy stacked stone in Melbourne. Also is it an easy DIY job to put it up, or should I get the pros to do it? Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! Re: Photos of STACKED STONE entrances?? 11Sep 04, 2009 6:58 pm SuH S&P ..... I like stackstone and I have seen it in magazines internally, but if it were me, in your amazingly gorgeous home, I would be doing a very sexy tiled wall probably metallic silver I have seen such a sexy tile, it's not a perfect tile it has markings on it and it's a biggy and dead sexy I thought the same about the tile too, SuH. Try google images 'corten tile', S&P. They are metallic tiles, some with designer rust. Sounds terrible but they look great. We thought about them for our pillars on our facade. DH would love to do a feature in our entrance hall. We fell in love with them at our tile selection, they had them on the wall. Re: Photos of STACKED STONE entrances?? 12Sep 04, 2009 7:12 pm I love those large metallic tiles (600 x 300). We are having some on our feature wall at the front of our house and hopefully on a feature wall inside aswell. The way the stone juts out, is asking for some feature lighting to be installed.
