Thx Hels, SuH & Deemaree
I'm so pleased with how the interior colours turned out.
Thx goodness I went ahead with the 3rd coat of paint and had my original personalised "mistake" W@ttyl BONE done.

I've been to the house every day now and I still have heaps more to get done before the big move next week! My next project is to clean the floors all over again AND try to get the grit out from the sliding door tracks!!! Those are such a pain to clean - hoovering helps a wee bit ... Vinegar and hot water are excellent for bringing the tiles up beautifully!! I had to wash and wash and wash mine several times to get rid of all the grout dust and it worked a treat Uurrggghhh... i tend to stand at my sliding for for about five mins at a time each time i vacuum trying to get the dirt and grit out of there!! Cannot WAIT to have lawns and gardens so i won't have to deal with dirt anymore!!! So whats left to do before the move then? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: TC2000 - 01/05/10 We have our KEYS!!! 1248May 05, 2010 6:10 pm Hi bskilner, Yep, it's rather nice (and still surreal) to be able to let myself into the house with my own set of keys! How's your build coming along? Not too long more to go yes? I'm getting my pom poms ready for you in the meantime Building thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22917 27.07.09 Contract signed. 08.09.09 Site scraped. 18.09.09 Slab completed! 23.11.09 Bricking done 09.03.10 - Tiling 15.04.10 PCI 01.05.10 Handover Re: TC2000 - 01/05/10 We have our KEYS!!! 1249May 05, 2010 6:13 pm Jodie80 Vinegar and hot water are excellent for bringing the tiles up beautifully!! I know about the wonders of vinegar...BUT unfortunately, I can't use vinegar cos' my hubby absolutely detests the smell of vinegar! He can't even sit at the same table when I have salad dressing!!!! Where do I start,... laundry decking is completed and the Alfresco will probably be done by Friday. The concreters started yesterday on preparing the driveway for the concrete pour scheduled on Friday. Tomorrow the fencer comes to do our wing fence and I finally managed to get an electrician to come in to do my light installation tomorrow afternoon (my SS was really great and after hearing my plight of not being able to find a local sparky cheap enough, he called his own contact for me - bless his cotton socks!). This weekend I have to start on finishing off my packing! And I have to call back my retainer man to see if he can do some more work for me out front! So, this is me presently! AND I still haven't finalised my window coverings but I'm not too stressed about it cos' my redishades seem to be OK for now - although they are a wee bit inconvenient when I have to put them up to get access to my sliding doors!!!!! I'm thinking of trying out Home OUtlet's ready-made rollers that are apparently adjustable in widths. How they work I have no idea so it looks like I will have to do a drive down to their store for a look-see. No piccies yet of currentl exterior works - I thought I'd leave it til completion! My immune system is down ever since we moved and I've been crook. Look forward to seeing your completed pics. I'll post some more of the floor-it's a master piece and probably the best feature of the home. It's turned out brilliantly. Re: TC2000 - 01/05/10 We have our KEYS!!! 1253May 05, 2010 7:12 pm Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Geez I go not come on here for a week and look what happens lol It looks amaaaaazing TC!!! Well done!! Cant wait til we are in our new place, so sick of this rental Builds going alright, mirrors and shower screens in. plasterer was in today putting finishing touches on walls. apparently certificate of occupancy should be here this week sometime?? Hopefully painters are working there the rest of week. then maybe have walk throughs next week, fingers crossed. thanks for support. cant wait to see all your decking, we plan to do our own in portico and out back door of house, will be a lot of work, but so worth it. well good luck with rest of the work. Lovely as the wood is, it's too red for our liking and clashes hugely with the overall exterior colour scheme of the bricks, render and garage. SOOOoooo, we thought long and hard and decided to go for plain ol' treated pine with the intention of staining it. Oddly enough, we will be going for a Merbau colour stain ( ) - I know, I know...wierd of us. The Merbau stain on treated pine actually came up a nice shade of brown which didn't have any red undertones! ALSO, we wanted to stain the timber sleepers of our side and rear retainer walls to match the decking. YUP...my hubby is going to be one heck of a busy bee maintaining the decked areas as well as the retainer walls for the next few years!!!! Hopefully by the end of tomorrow, our wing fence will be erected and it'll be such a nice change to have a proper side fence for security! We'll be painting the wing fence in Colorbond Jasper to tie in with the garage, downpipes, windows, gutters and fascia. Hopefully, it'll look OK...But then I was thinking maybe we should try staining it the same colour as the decking and retainer walls first and if we think the Jasper paint will look better, we can always paint over the wood stain later.... Hey there bskilner, Most definitely this point of the build where you're at is the most frustrating cos' the house is 99% completed but yet the time taken to do the touch ups etc can get quite boring and impatience takes over! Well, that was the case for me anyway. LOL, you know something...I never saw our certificate of occupancy - it must be somewhere in our settlement folder which actually I haven't had the time to flip through since handover!!!!! It's always such a nice sense of accomplishment when you're able to do some work yourself. If I had more faith in my hubby, I would have left the outdoor decking to him but I think we would have had to wait a whole year and more to see a finished decked area AND since I wanted something for us to stand on and somewhere for the kids to play undercover when it's raining outside, the job had to be done by someone else!
