OMG! OMG! OMG!
I have cabinets in the house!!!!!! This was a HUGE surprise cos' when I went by the house yesterday just before 4pm, there weren't any cabinets delivered plus I got stuck in the mud trying to close the front gate of the temp fence
So somewhere along the line after 4pm, the cabinet fitters came with the stuff and fitted them.
Here are a few pics...
My kitchen. I'm SO glad I got the bench island extended and starting from the pantry wall cos' now I have this L-O-N-G benchtop Looking at it now, I should have gone longer at the other end so that it lined up with the back unit. But on the floor plan, my spatial awareness was rather limited and I didn't know whether I would infringe on the space from the end of the unit to the dining area and the rumpus room area.
NOTE: I actually didn't want the handles mounted onto the 2 cabinets behind the bench but somehow this request didn't get transferred to the cabinet maker Nevermind, if it still bothers me later, I'll just get new doors done for these two.

Laundry cabinets - I'm considering some overhead cabinets later depending on money leftover.

Powder room cabinet - Yes, a somewhat small-ish teeny weeny room

Ensuite cabinet - sigh - I should've asked for the bench and cabinet to be extended to the wall to the right of the cabinet. Another add-on to do later.

So yes, I am a happy bunny this weekend
Now, here's something funny...I was caught by my SS when I was at the house today He was checking on the house to see what had been done since he knew that the cabinet makers were due to be at the house on Friday. I was upstairs in the bathroom measuring up the units etc when I heard noise in the house. I was actually almost out of my wits and then I stepped out and saw my SS upstairs too! He was as shocked and surprised to see me since he thought there was an intruder in the house He chided me for being at the house and I apologised profusely and said I couldn't help it since I saw that the cabinets were in and there was access to the house.
NOW, here comes the sad news
Somewhere between 4pm yesterday afternoon and lunchtime today (the time my hubby went by the house), someone damaged our garage internal access door
(Hmmm...good to know that these hollow doors are actually not resistant to break-ins )

After getting used to the doors and to see this happen!!!! Our SS wasn't pleased nonetheless! He thought someone had broken into the house but I told him the time sequence and swore that as at 4pm yesterday, the house was fine, door was fine and no cabinets were delivered. So he's going to have a word with the cabinet fitters..
Which brings me on to the next thing.... my 2 cabinets behind the bench are the wrong depth I opened them and lo and behold, they were barbie's kitchen cabinets! I double checked with my kitchen plans, and measured a gazillion times. Anyway, they are wrong and I showed this to the SS. He'll be calling the cabinet makers on Monday to enquire. I now have to make sure that the caesar stone benchtop is of the correct depth/width as well - just to save everyone the hassle.
And for those of you who already have your cabinets, do yours have a gap between the doors when 2 doors are closed (for the double door cabinets)? Mine all seem to be like this and they look odd! I guess they will have to be rehinged or rehung?
So what's next I wonder????
