Been very busy arranging EVERYTHING! We had our selection meeting yesterday and were a little unhappy with many expensive surprises. We were told before the meeting about a week ago that: * Front door would be no charge - at selections meeting told $450 extra * 3 Phase Power ($12 extra YEP that's what we were told) - at selections $733 * Soak wells would be a few hundred - at selection $2500 * Paving $1100 - at selection $2233 * Power box meter, no charge to have on left or right - at selections $180 to put on right hand side Any thoughts OR advice?? We haven’t signed off on it all yet. We do really like the house plan BUT do feel a bit rail-roaded. Many thanks, Re: Blueprint Homes (building in Perth) 29Nov 05, 2009 1:17 pm Brad 76 * Front door would be no charge - at selections meeting told $450 extra Had the same issue. I was told that as the full glass doors were very expensive it would mean i could change to a whole range of alternative doors at no cost. Ended up costing about $200. * 3 Phase Power ($12 extra YEP that's what we were told) - at selections $733 Can't comment, although common sense would say it wouldn't be $12. * Soak wells would be a few hundred - at selection $2500 Get your soakwells done by someone else. There was another person here who was quoted 10 soak wells for around $1500 from memory. Depending on the house you should be able to get away with alot less. * Paving $1100 - at selection $2233 I had issues with paving, and my cross over as well. The prestart girl kept getting told the wrong price, it was varying between $1000 - $4000. I think in the end it cost me $1700. * Power box meter, no charge to have on left or right - at selections $180 to put on right hand side I would argue this, why is there an extra cost to move the meter box? it's not like its any further away, or it needs anything special to be mounted. What side is your site power on? Any thoughts OR advice?? We haven’t signed off on it all yet. We do really like the house plan BUT do feel a bit rail-roaded. I know the railroaded feeling well, but i think you will find the same thing with most builders. Many thanks, Re: Blueprint Homes (building in Perth) 30Nov 05, 2009 11:32 pm Hi Elemist, What's new with you? Thanks for your reply and good advice. Re: the power box - the power is on the left but we want the power box on the right (on the small side of the house). It was really just that feeling of shock... So much extra $$$$ Re: Blueprint Homes (building in Perth) 31Nov 06, 2009 9:37 am Brad 76 Hi guys, It's been a while... Been very busy arranging EVERYTHING! On one note, congratulations on doing your pre-start. On another, what a shock with the prices! I bet that was upsetting hearing one set of prices and then another completely a week later. We had a few of those ourselves! mainly with the render at the front of the house - we thought it included it but ended up having to pay $2,500 so I think you will find dramas like that no matter what builder you go through. I defintely would recommend getting your soakwells done through somebody else - the builders always add so much $$ to the price of things its ridiculous! Always good to save money where you can. Good that you havent signed off on anything. My husband and I just went through the list of things we felt we needed the most before handing it back. Best of luck with everything - I hope it goes smoothly for you....all good things to come now Re: Blueprint Homes (building in Perth) 33Jan 23, 2010 1:39 am ooh! Exciting times ahead! We really love the "argyle" too. Once we get the photos onto the computer we'll get them up on our thread (asap)... We are about 5 weeks away from bub (we don't know the gender) so it's all very exciting.
