Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 02, 2009 7:21 pm Hi All I just like to tell you all that i had my electrical and color selection. I was upset on few things that they have told me. 1. When I tlaked to the Sales person in MW Access about the houses and then he mentioned about that i have to select a Facade since someone else already have the free one so i selected next cheapest thats $850 coolum. My question to the sales person was that i asked clearly do i get the shown details exactly as in the picture and he said yes. so i went to the coolum, but now when i went to the color selection she said that i won't get the render that on the coolum picture. so what i did was contacted my admin person and she said that my promotional $999 one dont have it. so make sure you get these things in writing from sales person otherwise you dont have proofs. 2. anyone else had this issue?? 3. I was trying to build an Alfresco and its 1.8m x 6.5 (or Verenda) since my set backs. cost me $3112. Admin person told me that i have to have the concrete slab, this may cost around $1500 or more depend on the slab. but i told her that i dont won't a slab put under the alfresco because that im doing the decking after with using stumps. I asked why i need this but she didnt gave me a clear info saying that if its H slab then i should do it something like that. Any help for this will be great.\ 4.Now I feel like what the hell im doing, with this PD ppl. I thought they good. but they dont give a damn about you. thats my thoughts. now the electrical question funny thing is that in the coolum facade yoy have 2 x front lights on the brick posts when i went and ask the Girl to add those in my house she is saying they can't do it. then why the hell they have it on the website displaying nicely. anyone have any other ways to get around with this will appreciated. regards really clueless now Re: Front Facade issues PD Access 2Sep 02, 2009 7:53 pm clueless2009 Hi All I just like to tell you all that i had my electrical and color selection. In regards to the slab, which house are you building ? Some alfrescos in H class areas now have have to have the concrete slab due to issues the with alfresco pillars and movement etc...., if you have extended the alfresco that is what the extra charge would be for. We have a Coolum facade and had junction boxes placed on the front pillars and had exterior lights installed after handover, as far as I was aware the only facades they can't do this on are the aspen and riviera as the front pillars are timber. Re: Front Facade issues PD Access 3Sep 02, 2009 11:41 pm thank you for your valuable input, in regards to the house that im building is Cumberland 21 with alfresco option and my alfresco length have to be reduced because of the estate setbacks. so its 1.8m length and width is 6.5m. you recon that my alfresco width is more than 1/2 of the house so thats why need the slab?? please tel me. i will ask my admin about puting those in my brick pilars let find out cheers Re: Front Facade issues PD Access 4Sep 03, 2009 9:45 am Hi Clueless 2009, We are also building Cumberland 21 with a rear Rumpus and Alfresco option. I was just now reading your older posts on the overhead cupboards and for us the kitchen overhead cupboards costed $811 excluding Fridge space. We chose slideout rangehood with overhead cupboard so we are getting two cupboards on either side as opposed to the Regent people, who have one set more. We also had to pay for the Alfresco slab $1,686 for HD slab. Cheers Vish Re: Front Facade issues PD Access 5Sep 03, 2009 11:01 pm Hi Vish Nice to see another one building simillar house. i have to talk to the admin about the overhead cupboards then. i can save $500 and put that in somewhere else. i cant build anything over 20m in length because my land length is 27m and i have 4m and 3m set backs. Also tight budget. By the way if this helps I have added high ceiling its $3780 (2590mm) added doors from garage to entry $369 added ensuite door $184 added a niche to the bathroom $165 add a gas point to the alfresco $219 add extra recycle water tap not sure how much yet i thing its around $259 added extra 2 lights under the overhead cupboards (2 x $118) my electrical cost me around $1658 inculding 5 x data points, 2 x tele, 3 tv, rest for lights & powerpoints. upgrade the front door lock gainsbrough tri lock $200 i think privacy locks for bathrooms 3 x 50 cheers Re: Front Facade issues PD Access 6Sep 04, 2009 9:31 am Hi Clueless, I hope PD agrees to refund $500. We are also on a tight budget. So, we went with pretty much what you have gone for except for a larger rumpus. All our contracts, Land registration and bank documents are done...waiting for building permit. Hoping for PD to start early... Re: Front Facade issues PD Access 7Sep 04, 2009 12:34 pm clueless2009 . My question to the sales person was that i asked clearly do i get the shown details exactly as in the picture and he said yes.... so make sure you get these things in writing from sales person otherwise you dont have proofs. Yes, definitely. I communicate everything by email and then follow up by phone and then ask for written confirmation by email of what was discussed . 3. This is easy, get them to add two junction boxes to the brick posts and then install lights that you like after handover. From memory a junction box was about $50 each. Re: Front Facade issues PD Access 8Sep 04, 2009 5:38 pm Thanks for the replies, I have send a printed electrical plan to my admin person and im waiting for a reply back from her i have placed the 2 junction boxes as mentioned by you all. yes its $50 or $55 (junction boxes. I will try to ask for the refund if i can otherwise no worries. to the Alfresco and the Slab if its over 1500 i maybe withdraw it. i asked the admin chick to do that for me. hopefully she done it. If i withdraw it i will go for a pergola. with a possibly a roof from cane. regards Building Standards; Getting It Right!
