Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 01, 2009 2:48 pm Hi, I have my Final inspection this Thursday the 3rd of Sept, could you give me an idea of what I should look for?? I know I should check to see that all doors/windows open and close, that the paint finish looks good, floor, carpets, all extras are installed etc... Settlement takes place 7days after this inspection, should the house be cleaned etc for the inspection? or is that done just before handover? I have noticed some dirt marks on the carpets, I'm assuming they will steam clean it? Thanks all Re: Final inspection ( pre settlement) 2Sep 01, 2009 2:56 pm Hi Fully, There is some great information in this thread here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20864&hilit=practical+completion+inspection Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! Good Luck Re: Final inspection Today! 5Sep 02, 2009 2:23 pm After ringing around a few places i found a building inspector that could fit me in tomorrow afternoon as he had a cancellation I feel it will be less stressful than trying to do it all myself, plus they know things i would never know, so I'm a bit more relaxed now. I'm assuming i don't need to tell Henley he is coming? its my choice right? Re: Final inspection ( pre settlement) 7Sep 05, 2009 11:50 am Well inspection day was fun! well not really, it was pretty stressful checking everything and hoping not to miss anything...Things found were all minor, so thats good and settlement is still booked and ready to go for the 10th of sept.. i would suggest nothing is unreasonable for PCI. we did all sorts, including checking the hot water, checking all the GPO's had power, testing that the showers were… 9 98689 The significant date is when receive final payment invoice Check that section of contract Bit of fluff by builders prior to that 1 15951 The worst thing you can do is sign a building contract without a pre contract review.
