We were up there today to drop the lights for the sparky and I couldn't see any new housing across the street from us. I think I know the place you are talking about though. Anyway, I think by the way things are going your house will be up in no time. Re: Building our North Lakes home - SLAB BEING POURED TODAY!!! 24Sep 04, 2009 6:42 pm Wow - HAPPY SLAB DAY!!! That I was... now I have truly stalked your house - that's a primo position in the street you have there - and it looks nicer than the original one I stalked!! We were pretty lucky with the position and lucky that the only highset house we could fit on it was the kiara. Somehow I don't think our neighbours appreciate a two storey next to them I'm glad you found it alright. Hopefully we should have the garage doors installed next week...progress is going pretty good. Saw the house around the corner that is going to be like yours...looks fantastic and its going up extremely fast. The last time we saw it was at slab stage. Al's slab! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have a tap! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The kids weren't too interested in our concrete, preferring to climb over the mountain of dirt/mud at the front of the site. I should've taken photos of them - they were absolutely filthy at the end of it. Even I found a sink hole while walking around the site... with one leg sinking down half-way to my knee! Can't wait for tomorrow, when it gets erected!!! Frames have arrived!!! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Went past the site on our way home from school... to notice some bricks have been delivered!!! And the termimesh (or whatever its called) has been put down!! Although, looking at the above photo - it was all there earlier on when I went past - (I didn't stop to look properly this morning). Lol on the kids getting dirty. Went up there on sat and my daughter had her hands and clothes covered in grout that was left in the garage. ( I have a feeling she was encouraged to dip her hands in the bag by the eldest). I was not impressed...grout everywhere in the car. lol. Lights installed garage doors arriving tomorrow. Re: Our North Lakes home build - FRAME DELIVERED 07/09 - photos 35Sep 07, 2009 12:41 pm I'll go have a squizz at your garage doors next time i'm checking out the "house like ours" - I see their colorbond roof was delivered on Friday - can't wait to see how it looks!! The frame didn't go up yesterday, and our mountain of dirt wasn't moved... I went past the site 3x yesterday - all ready to take some action shots. DH called past on his way home and the man with the digger was there - he was going to shift the mountain of dirt to the back of the site - except that the bricks and the trash pile was in the way...!! Today, a little bit of progress... but not much! Went past at 0840 - no one onsite 1150 - three blokes standing around a ute - no visible change 1450 - some frames have been laid out on the slab, green material stuff has been put up along front boundary. On the good side of today, our wall insulation (which we are installing ourselves) has just arrived (since I started writing this) and is now taking up room in our garage. When we first met our SS 2 weeks ago, we said we wanted to insulate ourselves, he said "Good luck finding any"... and explained why, with the Govt ceiling insulation rebate thing. I emailed 6 companies in Brisbane the following day, with one quote being returned almost immediately, a phone call (and visit) from another company a few days later and no response from the other 4 companies. Fortunately for us, the first quote back, I placed our order with - am very relieved to say the least, that I now have it in my possession! Am going to have heaps of fun carting it across to the house site in a few weeks time, and installing! How's the frame coming along? will have to drive down your end when we come up this weekend to stalk your house...lol Re: Our North Lakes home build - FRAME DELIVERED 07/09 - photos 38Sep 09, 2009 4:41 pm kiarabuild - I've just come from looking at the "house like ours" - their roof has gone up and it looks good - had another walk through of their house *naughty naughty*!... I did actually think about driving past your place, then thought against it - wish I did now and then I could've given you your answer! By all means go check out our house on the weekend - hopefully there will be a frame!!
