I was told to expect the land to be titled in March 2010. Seems like they keep delaying the release date. I am also eligible for the FHOG and in exactly the same situation as yours. My take on the situation is that if you sign before sept 30th knowing that you will not meet the 26week building start date you will be ineligible for the boost. Which is my case is 14k. So the burning question is, do I sign before sept 30th gunning for the 32k grant but at the same time risk getting only 18k grant if I don't get the boost. Anyways, keep us posted on how you go not in this situation but i also believe that this is correct - if the delay is unforseeable at the time of contract signing then you would be ineligible for the boost - meaning that if Queenstown had signed the building contract 2 weeks ago (prior to being advised of the delay) then he/she would be able to apply for a boost extension - however, Queenstown is now aware that it will not be possible to lay the slab within 26 weeks of 31/09/09 due to the land being delayed - and thus, will probably not be able to apply for an extension. Queenstown - if I was in this situation, I would not risk $14,000.00 for the sake of getting an extra $7,000.00 - I would wait until later in the year to sign building contracts and get the $25,000.00, as it seems that your developer has a trend of delaying the land development/title registration, and iunfortunately it may be wise to allow for further delays 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Not much in this responce. My suggestion is, what are you looking to build and why. This will all be impacted by the local councils planning scheme.
