Lost the other thread - can someone confirm if there is a min $$ penalty for NSW. Builder put $0 in during the rush to sign on and whilst prac. comp. is "supposed" to be this Friday - 7 mths after the date listed in the contract. Hope you can help so my wife doesn't divorce me after this weekend if it goes pearshaped again?? Also - anyone know how much drama it'll cause if we change the locks, move in and tell the builder to P.O. if he tries to delay handover - we have been living in the shed on the property since April - waiting...waiting... for the damn thing to end. I think the standard contract in NSW is $1 (Clarendon I think has this), some other builders have between $15 and $45 per day. On changing the locks - technically - until handover - I think the house belongs to the builder - so THEY could sue YOU for damage to property. After 4 years - we're in!
