Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building in Arnolds Creek Estate Melton West 141Oct 21, 2010 10:34 am I actually got to see this estate up and running as it'd be the other day. I actually had no idea where it was. I nearly had an accident though because I wasn't aware the service road alongside Bullmans road no longer connects to Centenary Ave, so I had to cut through a slip lane between the trees, but then Bullmans has been changed as well and widend out so I was going up the wrong side of the road...Oops. I haven't been out Melton way much since I moved out of the area 5 years ago, and it's nuts how much the place has changed with all the new estates (Both AC and the ones down the other end near the golf course). Was really strange to see though - I used to ride my push bike with my friends where you're now living lol. That's really annoying what you're all going through with the internet. There are blocks through the estate here and there that are already titled, but they are probably overcharging for them, the stages that we're supposed to be titled in July, are still untitled, and they don't look like they'll be ready any time soon either. I haven't heard of Belle Garden, but i'm still finding my feet around here, and where things are. Going by the website http://www.bellegardens.com.au/ it looks lovely. Are there any homes there as yet? Well when I bought the land in Belle Gardens the land agent said that they should be titled in late Sep or early Oct. Now it seems like they might not be titled till late Nov Why do people lie about these things and raise false hopes The area itself looks nice, no creek though and there are houses coming up along side real fast. Think I am in stage 3 and hoping that the land is settled this year so that the building process can start in Jan. Keep Walking..... Even the stages around here are running around three - four months late. Fingers crossed for fine weather like today and it titles without delay. Oh, and anyone in the area with slow internet, and AL, I rang Bigpond and they are sending out a technician to check the service, free of charge. I explained what speed we are experiencing and how it slows when the neighbours connect, they said 8mb is average for the area, and with the speeds we are reaching, they can certainly speed it up. The land looks to be almost ready, but when I spoke to the agent he said that the solicitor has advised him that this may take a month or so more to be titled!! Not impressed with this solicitor at all, took them about a month just to get my initial contract done and then they wanted the payment to be made in about a week for the deposit. Keep Walking..... Re: Anyone building in Arnolds Creek Estate Melton West 147Oct 28, 2010 8:50 am I think stage 18 here has been titled. Only three months late What I don't understand, why does the average person need to submit their plans to the developer for approval, so there aren't mass productions of the same style of homes, and yet this developer / builder can take over the estate with his cloned turn key packages Dear J.K. All I can say is I'm glad I don't have to drive past them, and he hasn't built one house in our street. All I can say is I'm glad I don't have to drive past them, and he hasn't built one house in our street. I'm surrounded by them He buys entire street blocks. I still think he has some connection to the developer. He is able to post for sale signs on land that that was even weeks from titles, and our conveyor that we used (that coincidently was recommended by the land sales) was in the same building as that builder. A little birdy in an orange shirt told me he is being charged and fined for taking down all the street signs and not putting them back up Dear J.K. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic. The only thing I could understand from what he was saying, was a chuckle, followed by, there is nothing they can do. They are claiming the problem is on my end instead. Considering they connected us, installed the cables, provided the home phone and the modem. I'm thinking it IS their problem, the incompetent tools. I've also discovered that if their is a crime being committed during the wee hours, don't call the Melton police. They can't help you, you need to ring triple zero and then they will send someone out. How does that even work? Dear J.K. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic. I mean, a ginger kid with two friends? Sincerely, Anonymous Re: Anyone building in Arnolds Creek Estate Melton West 155Nov 29, 2010 8:53 pm We left Telstra, after shockingly poor speeds (at one stage we were only getting 1% of the speed we were paying for & the best we got was about 20%), plus all the run around and misleading and false promises etc. The rang us back the other day saying we could get ADSL2. We said, when we left a month ago - we couldn't. They said - they did an upgrade two weeks ago and their computer was saying we could get ADSL2. We said, we were told that last time, and once signed, we were told we could only get ADL1 Fast speed. What we got at best was 20% of ADSL1 speed, and we don't really believe you - you would need to confirm it. They rang back, saying yes ADSL2. After a bit of talking - that turned into "at least a bit faster speed that you are getting now". We said, you confirm via email we can get ADSL2, and we will recomit. They promised to get the techs to confirm that we could get ADSL2 to our house, and would ring back in 3-5 days. We never got a call back. I don't think they will bother upgrading, now the NBN is on the march again. I saw on the NBN CO sight - that we in Arnolds Creek are within the Fibre Service Area of the newly anounced Stage 2 Rollout in Bacchus Marsh. Which includes Bacchus and Melton areas. But they have not anounced any dates as yet. and I am a bit worried - as a Fibre Service Area appears to initially only initially service 3000 homes. There would be more than that number in the Bacchus/Melton area. Here's hopping anyway. as with the pittiful speeds we are getting now - the only internet services that we can use - is really email and general surfing. As IPTV and like services generally require at least 4mb/s. Re: Anyone building in Arnolds Creek Estate Melton West 156Dec 01, 2010 9:33 pm Hey Guys, Iv been MIA for quite a while but have been still keeping up with everyones posts! Just wanted to ask all you Arnolds creekians to click on to my thread link in my signature and read my recent very important post! It may apply to all of you as my 8mnth old house is now starting to fall apart and the builder is stating it is due to our recent rainfall and the soil we have here in Melton! Could any of you that may be having a similar issue please reply back with your experiences either on the thread or via a PM! I can can safely say, that it's probably put us all on edge now and watching our houses. When did you start noticing all the cracks coming up? We have been in our house for three months now, after almost a nine month slooooooooooooooooow build, and we haven't any internal cracking at all. I've been expecting some, but surprised that we haven't had any at all, and we are in the same position as you are, little to no landscaping and we haven't concreted any part of the yard. Without sounding silly, do you and AL (as I read from the other post) live near one another? I think I might live on the other side of the creek from you both. It's a long shot. As soon as I read your post though, I immediately thought cracked pipes. I'm advertising, but at PCI, we hired Darren from Darbecca (who a lot here have used too) he is really thorough. Probably well worth the money to have the house inspected for your own peace of mind, and should it come to that, you have a report to fall back on should your builder try to pull a swifty. Please update us regularly, and I'll have a look around my house to see if anything is coming up. Dear J.K. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic. I mean, a ginger kid with two friends? Cracks started to appear in the corners etc. Doors started to go out of alignment, unable to close them.. etc We are hoping to get the " fixer uppers " out again sometime in February. I better book them now, as it will take "PD" that long to get someone out.
