Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building in Arnolds Creek Estate Melton West 161Dec 09, 2010 12:18 am To The Little Misses & Shelz Dammit, someone has beaten me to the punch.. I was going to get a flyer going with the DOB-in-a-Hoon website.. I am SOOOO over these pathetic, inconsiderate A##HOLES.. Unfortunately there are only 3-4 of them. 1 near me and afew over the back near Shelz But I still think that a community get-together over a cuppa, or a bottle, what the hell a KEG, would be a good idea.. Thrash out afew concerns etc, and just have a good old chin-wag and finally meet/greet THE NEIGHBORS AL Re: Anyone building in Arnolds Creek Estate Melton West 162Dec 09, 2010 5:17 am Just a WARNING to others in our area, make sure your car doors are all locked and use only main roads if your driving through the area at night, and NOT backroads. My other half was involved in an incident early this morning down Centenary drive, on his way to work, where he was tail gated through Melton, then the car cut him off, stopped in the middle of the road, four males got out the car and headed towards his car. He reversed, floored it and as he took off, they kicked in his door and smashed the car up with a crowbar or some sort of metal bar as he took off. He's shaken and upset, but alright. I'm angry, upset and now regretting building here. Not only could he have been seriously injured, but we have to pay the excess to have the car repaired. We don't even have an official police report, as the officer only took notes and no official signed report was taken until we can take photos of the damage in daylight hours. The hoons are the least of our problems. There are roaming gangs driving our streets looking for victims. Not to mention the Sudanese gangs that are breaking into construction sites. I know it can happen in any suburb, but I'm quickly losing faith in Melton and I'm beginning to understand why people roll their eyes or smirk when we tell them where we live. Dear J.K. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic. I mean, a ginger kid with two friends? Sincerely, Anonymous Re: Anyone building in Arnolds Creek Estate Melton West 163Dec 09, 2010 9:01 am OMG!!!! I cant believe this Little misses! Is your partner OK? Hubby and I always cut through Centenery ave but I guess that will be changing now. We have to send photos through to the constable who took notes and also an insurance assessment. We have to pay the excess to have the car repaired, but if they are caught ( which is highly unlikely ) we will be able to receive a refund if a court date is set for them. I would rather not post the make and model car, and the partial number plate, so if anyone is interested, please PM me. We always travel though Centenary too, but won't be at that time of morning. They were clearly looking for trouble and were armed. The sad part is, they will do it again and again, as the police don't seem to take these matters seriously. No wonder Melton has the reputation that it does, sadly. Dear J.K. Rowling, Your books are entirely unrealistic. I mean, a ginger kid with two friends? I'm really glad he's ok though That's absolutely disgusting of the police, don't they get how even more serious it could've been? Building the Foxley 29 with PD. They downplay crime around here and nothing ever gets reported, unless it's the latest crime figures so the police can all pat themselves on the back and w*nk over how wonderful they are, they don't seem to be doing much else. Excuse the expression, but I've already had enough of their inaction around here, and this latest incident has tipped me over the edge Topic change, have any other of you Creekians have an ant problem in your garden? Even if you don't have a garden yet, your dirt. I've had it with the little b*stards and they are actually almost orgasmic over one of my weepholes (near where my water tank is) the problem is, I think they are colonising in there! We have them down the side of our driveway too, but dug up the nests and sprinkled Ant - Rid, I think it was, but they've come back again. I just want them to keep their noses out of my weep holes I've tried everything, now we're calling the builder to see if there is something leaking, creating moisture that is attracting them, after that, we'll have to pay someone to come out and kill them all off. Sincerely, Anonymous Re: Anyone building in Arnolds Creek Estate Melton West 167Dec 15, 2010 8:17 pm I cant believe the police response to this! It doesnt make you feel very safe knowing that this has happened and that they are not even doing anything about it I haven't yet had an ant issue. YET. We have a major mossie issue and I just cant handle it anymore. Just looking at the b*stards makes me itch now! The bugs around here are shocking. Apparantly hubby said there are a heap of redbacks right at the back of the yard were the drainage point is, near the fence so I think its time to get pest control out before someone gets hurt. Have any of you had trouble with spiders round here? We call them harry's, sounds much more nicer We did when we first moved in, but found my Black & Decker plug in pest control and haven't had anything inside at all. Just the occasional mozzie here and there. The blow flies are killing me though, I can't cook a roast without them inviting themselves in and I don't know how they are getting in. All external doors have seals and weather strips with no gaps whatsoever. We have fly screens and security doors on all the doors too, but they still find their way in. The mozzies only attack if I go out into the garden, or lack of garden We rarely get any inside. We bought one of the Plug in liquid mozzie repellers and have it at our main door that we use and they wont come anywhere near it. Citronella candles or the coil burners I've heard work well too. The police finally contacted my other half, the system turned up empty No matching licence plates to fit that description of vehicle apparently. It doesn't make you feel very secure driving around here once the sun sets. They think the car probably belonged to them, but has stolen plates on it. Sorry I only just saw this. But this is exactly the reason why I'm glad I no longer live in Melton. It's nothing like the place I grew up in (Which it was actually quite nice in that aspect as a youngin in the 80's/90's). I think the problem is that prices in Footscray and Sunshine started going up and it started pushing a lot of the undersirables out Melton way and it's gotten worse since prices have skyrocketed. Everyone just keeps getting pushed further out and the dregs seem to be settling in Melton :\ Did you get any resolution in the end to the damage, or about what you'd expect? Came across come land in Cherry Close but the vendor wanted all the payments to be paid within a month Anyways, ended up buying a decent size block in Belle Gardens, Melton South. Anyone familiar with the area? Hi MrWalker, What stage in Belle Gardens did you purchase? We have a deposit on Stage 8 and awaiting title. Was meant to be end of 2016, and just been advised this week that it will be Feb/Mar. Did you expereince any delays in land settlement? How is the Belle Garden estate? Do you like it? We were attracted by the lot size 16m x 35m, and the price was more affordable than other estates, plus the estate didn't have many strict covenants.
