Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Stupid Question Maybe???? 3Aug 30, 2009 7:35 pm Hi, not stupid at all. We are the second house in our court to be built so we were pretty sure what number we would be based on our neighbour. This was confirmed when we received a water bill during the build with the house number on it but as suggested check it out through council Re: Stupid Question Maybe???? 4Aug 30, 2009 8:19 pm not sure for other states, but if you're in vic check out this site. http://services.land.vic.gov.au/maps/interactive.jsp you can put your lot details in if you know them, or if you put your street name in, select the arrow tool from the menu across the top (between the ruler and the information), choose identify property on the left, click on your block and it will come up with your street number. not sure if it will work if your land hasn't been titled yet. I wouldn't rely on water authorities or the like, either, or assume a number based on what the neighbour has. In WA the local government has the final say on house numbers so for WA people they are the ones to confirm with.
