Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 25, 2009 11:42 am Hi all, I have just found out by calling fair trading office, that the site supervisor we were allocated does not have a current certificate/license...which explains his reluctance when we asked for his license number!! According to their (FTO) records, his license expired last year. I asked if SS is still able to operate under the builder even if he doesn't have a current license, as we are building with a project builder. One response i got was that he can't work AT ALL and that we should contact the builder and tell them to stop all works on site, until they allocate someone who IS licensed! Same person also said that if anything goes wrong we won't be able to make a claim bcos SS isn't licensed. Another person (at FTO) then told me we can't make a claim against that person, it will be against the builder. Hel also said that he can still supervise for the project builder, as long as he's not physically doing anything on site...i didn't think he would be physically doing anything anyway...isn't that what contractors are for? Does anyone have any other advice on what to do in this situation...it is causing us a bit of grief atm & being first-timers, we're unsure of what to do about it!
