It must be soo exciting for you now and the build looks like it has gone so smoothly I love reading these threads, they are very informative and soo helpful for me as a first home builder, i would really love to do my own thread but just havent got to it as got alot on my plate at the moment. But i got all the photos so when i get some time i will try and get a thread with some pics up Re: R and R's Masterton Sirocco 7 - so close to moving in 162Jan 08, 2010 4:52 pm Hey R, I was looking at the pics of your piers that were done before your slab went down and noticed that you have heaps more piers than we do (mostly in the back half of your house) Any idea why this may be? The other ones have just the columns going to the ground and that is it. So I would say it is an extra but we werent aware of this, just paid the $1000 .. Bexi:The reason for all the extra peers at the back is that they had to cut from the front of our block and fill the back. It doesnt look like it but there is a 2 metre drop from the front right to the back left of our block .. Hope this answers the questions. Cheers The other R in this equation (otherwise know through these threads as the abreviation DH (hope that stands for dear husband and not the other DH I am thinking of)) Re: R and R's Masterton Sirocco 7 - so close to moving in 165Jan 18, 2010 3:07 pm Hi Rowena, Our tank is going in (hopefully ) on Wednesday so we should be set to move in on the weekend. Our router blew up in a storm on the weekend so we have no internet acess at the moment. The phone won't be connected till the 29th and the internet at least a week after that. Should have some lived in photos in a few weeks. I will have lots of reading to catch up on when we are back on line. At least I have no distractions from the computer so we are getting lots of packing done. There is a never a good time to get good photos as the house is very lived in. The kids are loving having a toy room and the lego gets tipped out quite often. We should have put cupboards in but something that will come later. Love my own sewing room where I have been busy making curtains. The lounge and the boys room are done. Have fabric for my sewing room and kitchen window. Will need to get them done by Winter. We will get panel glides for the sliding door. Loving the dishwasher and the big oven. The oven only lasted a week. There was a loose connection and it caused it to short out. They couldn't come and fix it for a week and the guy replaced the whole of the electricals for the oven. We could still use the gas cooktop. Unfortunately it was the week the in-laws came to visit. It was great having them here as Dad especially made us get into the front of the house. It was just like one big mud puddle. He also painted the feature walls in the bedrooms. Hubby is getting stuck into the side fence which is nearly finished. The other side has works started on it so have to wait a while till we can start the fence on that side. It is an Allworth Home and they go up pretty quick from what we have seen of others. Here are the photos. I didn't take any of the bathroom as they are the same except for a bathmat and toothpaste. I've been wondering how things have been going! It is wonderful to see you all moved in and enjoying your beautiful home! Fabulous idea to use the in-laws in getting all your landscaping and feature wall painting done! It really looks good! (especially the feature wall colour in your bedroom)! I should invite my in-laws to come visit over the next couple of months!
