Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 1544Sep 22, 2010 5:46 pm So after a fairly long wait, and back and forth with council, we've started our 20 day countdown to construction, validation letter in and proof of funds accepted. just need to keep a look out for that porta loo now.... Vincy - not long now... I posted on my thread too but in case anyone else here knows: Does anyone know if you can get PVC downpipes in a pre-set colour? (Meaning, the PVC is already coloured, not white that needs to be painted over?). We are paranoid about getting white PVC painted and it flaking in the future, which is why we were thinking of Colorbond downpipes. But the architect company today said Masterton prefer PVC and its always standard white only. I just wasn't sure if this was right... What have you done? Thanks in advance! Hi Vincy, We have thinner sections of bricks below our sliding doors - will try and get a photo for you. It was one of the last things the brickies did. Cheers Sam Hi Sam, they usually email you a copy of the invoice followed by a hard copy in the mail within 2-3 days. You then have to submit to your bank and chase it up to ensure they dont require any other info. When we did our tile selection we spoke to Don's tiles about it and we've now received a referral from them so will be calling this week to organise. Hey Lizzy, I missed this post? I havent thought about doing this, does it mean the grouting doesnt get dirty? That would be a BONUS!!! I think ours were a full course but I could be wrong. Will try to get some pics for you as well (although our back alfresco(ish) area is being poured so the concrete may come up past the first course so not sure how clear it will be). sabs1, yes they seal the grout so that it doesn't absorb any stains. They also do a light seal over the tiles (although most are already sealed). The guys that we are using say they use a lifetime sealer so you only ever have to do it once. They're coming out on Monday before the carpet goes in on Tuesday so I'm pretty keen to see the end results! Congrats N&V and patsam! Our big thing is making sure things like the extra floor and wall insulation we've ordered go in, a friend built a few years ago and did the same, however Masterton neglected to install it and they'd plastered already when they worked it out, their solution was to cut holes fill and patch, something we will not accept as its ******* as. T Likewise T, yes, it is all a bit scary, especially when there isnt much flexibility with the volume builders regarding contracts etc. So far so good though, no regrets as yet... Pity that other H1 members didnt get to benefit from the chat. Howard Ryan and George Zakos are very knowledgable, giving people, not often one comes across companies giving completely free advise.
