There was no sediment control along the fencing. Despite the fact that we told the demolition crew that the first inspection report said sediment control had to be included before the final inspection. ETA: My husband just spoke with him... the response? "We don't do sediment control." LOL lizzy, if you have taken out the Palais inclusion, sediment control is part of the inclusion. Not sure if if Masterton can do it for you earlier. We used state demo and and paid extra for sediment control only realised after that Masterton provides as well. I have been reading all everyone's post. It was very helpful. Thank you. Masterton has put the fence up on our site, do not know when they will start work. Was hoping slab in before Christmas. ________________ Masterton Santorini Executive Facade Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 607Dec 10, 2009 12:02 pm KG85 thanx MrsRose where were you able to get the samples for the cupboards and the benchtop, as we are doing tiles this weekedn and i have so far been told the only way we can see them is to go to M Studios first and have a quick look. is there a website that i can look up This was back in May and I don't know if they're still using the same colours etc. We ordered ours from Quantam Quartz and Laminex directly, however if you can get your colour consultant to let you into Colour Selection they do have samples there as well. They won't let you in un-escorted and you generally need an appointment... but its worth a shot. We actually chose our bench top and cupboards at dilorenzo (in our heads) and when we did the studio m a week later... just confirmed it with them then. It's horribly disorganised and masterton should be able to do a lot better than to send their customers to a tile shop and expect them to choose their tile without good information about what's available to choose from for vital things like bench tops and cupboards! I totally agreee with you Bexi. How hard would it be for Masterton to put up the colour selections for kitchens, handles, doors etc on a website for people to have a look at and then get samples to take with them to the tile shop. We have friends who built with Macdonald Jones and they got this thick folder with everything in it to choose from. R Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 613Dec 12, 2009 6:55 am vincy Just got quotes for solid timber floors from Masterton (Accent) it was $21k for approx 140m2 Also got some external quotes 15k and 17k 5k difference is huge, i can get some nice furniture... The only issue is I will see if masterton will only tack the skirting on so they can be taken off later......... Just dug out our old quote from Accent (we went there ourselves, ie. not quoted via the builder). Supply and install Briggs Solid Blackbutt 133 mm Prefinished (excludes stairs) - just under 29k for around 220-240 m2 (not sure exactly), all inclusive (underlay, labour, GST ...). BTW, apart from other things, I also didn't like their quote because they - although we asked for it - didn't elaborate in writing on what the underlay is and what would be the laying method. These are the real solid timber floors, only they (supposedly) don't require sand and polish after laying. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 614Dec 12, 2009 9:09 am r and r, McDonald Jones came down to sydney about a month after we signed up with masterton. We would've gone with them had we known about them earlier... i was very impressed with what i saw from them. The steel frames are awesome and the price is the same as all the builders and they have really nice floorplans Building Sirocco 7 Kellyville Ridge - 630Sqm block Build topic - viewtopic.php?uid=16738&f=31&t=27636&start=0 Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 615Dec 12, 2009 10:05 am R and R Bexi It's horribly disorganised and masterton should be able to do a lot better than to send their customers to a tile shop and expect them to choose their tile without good information about what's available to choose from for vital things like bench tops and cupboards! We went consevertive with colour eg mostly white base. Yet to make it to tile selection. Should be interesting. ________________ Masterton Santorini Executive Facade Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 616Dec 13, 2009 8:08 pm Hi everyone, been a while since I have been on. Good to see everyone is moving forward. Totally agree that it would be so much easier if they gave out all the colours before you had to choose tiles. We were so confused but did the same thing as a few other people on here and got samples of Quantum Quartz, laminex & polytech kitchen cupboards before we went in so we had a rough idea of what we wanted and tried to match our tiles to that Lizzy - Sorry to hear about your demo being so much hassle! It must be so frustrating when all you want is to start your build Bexi - Progress really does start to fly once you have a site start, we have begun to see it first hand! Yep thats right, we have finally had work started on site! We had site scrape on the 1st and as of the 11th we have a slab! We have been going out almost everday to see if there is more progress. They have been working super quickly but I don't think much more will be happening before Christmas I'll have to start my own thread with pictures and plans etc, I am thinking of starting a blog but the site wasn't being very co-operative. Hope everyone's build is still going well! Building Masterton Jamison with Executive Facade Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 617Dec 13, 2009 9:27 pm I have been to Don's Tiles many times and still haven't made my final selection for the reasons of the cost of the tiles and labour, not knowing what the other items will look like (as everyone has mentioned), and FINALLY which is the hardest... not knowing what else you need to upgrade in colour selection and what budget you will need to allocate to it. Villina with Trend facade Sydney Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 618Dec 14, 2009 12:09 pm I think we're on our way! Masterton are organising our peg out and we expect that to be done before Christmas. Just waiting on the Council Work Permit which we're expecting this week then Masterton can get their Construction Certificate and then we can leave it all in their hands.
