I would recommend that you sit down and think of every little detail you need. power points, tv points, lights ect. Remembering that if your thinking of getting foxtel IQ you need 2 connection for foxtel and 1 connection for free to air and this is something you should get put in at construction. We ensured we spent extra money on down stairs as we knew we could never get things like lights and PPs down there after we were finished. another thing we are sorry we did was we got the intercom installed down stairs and now think to our selves that we should have got the receiver installed upstairs rather than down LOL. So exciting to get started. We're still in our house and slowly packing while we wait for council approvals, electricals, contract, blah blah blah. Of course it will come upon us before we realise it but we just want to get out of this house now and get started with the build! We did get the ducted vac and vacpan. All up I think it cost us around $2117 for the ducted vacuum (they said they just install however many outlets your home needs so not sure how many that will be), vac pan, turbo head brush and extra set of hoses for upstairs. What stage are you up to with your build? Welcome back Pacu. Good luck with your demo. Have you signed your contract yet? We are getting our slab poured next Friday which I can't wait for!! Things have been happening nearly every day on site which has been fantastic!!! J&T - why didn't we think of that with the intercom?? We will spend most of our time upstairs too with the kids play room up there. Wonder if you can put in 2?? Lizzy I can't wait for my Vacpan - that was a must have for me!! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 34Aug 28, 2009 9:55 am BADH - I'm the same! Everytime I sweep the kitchen floor I think, "If only I had a vacpan right now!" We don't mind signing the contract without the council the approval but we also need to have a correct tender first and correct sets of drawing plans before proceeding. We're quite disappointed with my CSC at the moment for not taking our request seriously. Congrats J & T! You've been a great inspiration to everyone here and that's what we keep us going and being positive building with masterton. Many thanks for all the feedbacks and contributions in the forum. BADH - Did you include an outdoor living at the rear elevation? If yes, is it a 9130 X 4000 with pitched roof or flat roof? We'll keep an eye on your building process . Lizzy - Well done with your colours appointment! Good luck with the council! Finally, welcome to all newbies in the forum! Thats over 2 weeks delay Building The Chelsea Elite (Masterton) @ Spring Farm Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 38Aug 29, 2009 4:12 pm Thanks for the welcome No worries Lizzy, colour and electrical selections is a stressing time and every little piece of info helps. BADH, we are currently in the process of going over the final tender and are waiting on our contract. So far we have had very few issues but have just lapsed on the 180day increase free period and copped the small increase before the recent $4k increase. The existing house is coming down in just over a week. So we are quite excited now that things are actually about to get underway. Thats over 2 weeks delay Hi Springfarmer, Nooo, not another price rise, our tender runs out mid next month,im hoping we will be out of council next week,i really hope we get evrything done in time. I really think they need to put a realistic time frame on tenders, its not us that slows the process down(we all want our building to start right now) its the people behind the scences. Its really out of our control how long things will take. Ask if you can get a extention seeing they made mistakes on the plans again.
