Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Has anyone built with Homebuyers Centre in Perth? 21Sep 08, 2009 2:18 pm Lost track on the time with the sales consultant's one week... Still waiting for the final approval. And in the mean time, more extension on the land... Lost track on that as again. I'm starting to wonder if the sales consultant does liaise with the mortgage broker at all. Sent a email through to the mortgage broker asking about what would be the remaining amount that I have to fork out (how much more of my belt needs to be tighten) and he came back with the same amount before the variation credit given back to me! When I informed him about what the amount should be and he questioned me if I had the correct contract! How rude. Best part, I got so annoyed at waiting and rang the bank to find out. What they told me was they sent something to the mortgage broker and is waiting for a respond from him. I was not even aware of anything happening in between. The Customer service person was shocked that I was not kept in the loop. When I told the mortgage broker about this, I think he might have blow. (I love to think that he became angry about this, serves him right ) Meanwhile, I'm not even certain what should I do. I'm tired of their delay... Re: Home being built by Homebuyers Centre 22Sep 17, 2009 4:41 pm Finally... It has been approved. Went and did my floor coverings yesterday as well as tiles. Floor coverings was done pretty quickly. Opt for all vinyl as it will be easier to remove at a later stage as well as easier to clean as compared with carpets. Tiles wise, took me around 2-3 hours choosing. Finally got it out of the way. I am not certain how the whole thing will look like but would not want to think about it and let the finished house surprise me. Pre-start has been booked for next Thursday so that will be out of the way as well. Any hints and tips on how to deal with prestart? I am still unhappy about the builder. Previously informed him about the amount required and he gave me some credit back but at a cost of making the house smaller and the garage is link to the house. Only problem although I am given the credit to minimize the amount I have to pay upfront, the mortgage broker informed me I still have to pay the original upfront amount. What is the point of making my small house even smaller when I still have to pay the same upfront amount. Re: Has anyone built with Homebuyers Centre in Perth? 23Sep 17, 2009 5:50 pm Well congratulations on the house.. I have built with Homebuyers.. I had hiccups through the paper work stage which took about 7 months altogether but the build of the house has been fantastic and with no problems and took 5 months to build. I wonder if you have the same sales consultant me and LB had. It sounds like it. I hope the build will go smoothly What design are you building? Home Group WA Monte Carlo Timeline on Page 1 Re: Has anyone built with Homebuyers Centre in Perth? 24Sep 18, 2009 10:21 am 5 months... I can't wait for it to be up. I am trying to get excited about this whole process but it is really hard when the sales consultant does that to you. It sure sounds like we had the same sales consultant, and I'm waiting for prestart to see if he kept his word in a way. He mentioned that internally, I can move the cook top and sink to areas I want. I will definitely not recommend this sales consultant to anyone. I've started around in March and now its September when the land title was release back in June. The design that he choosen for me is known as "Pennsylvania" which was suppose to have a alfresco and reasonable sized bedrooms. Unfortunately, he has removed my alfresco which was there for my poor dog. Now he will be left out in the rain and sun until the alfresco is up. Sigh.... There isn't any display homes on this design. Re: Has anyone built with Homebuyers Centre in Perth? 30Sep 18, 2009 11:41 am I think they get in contact with you when your file flashes up their computer or something. One day I had about 3 people ring me from there saying what was happening next after a drought of nothing. THen I got the letter saying that the drought was going to happen. Could of got that before lol. Now I have my CLO and she seems really nice and said to contact her any time. It is great to have a point of contact. My sales guy is a really nice guy and a great salesperson I must admit. He really was the only person who really showed any interest when we first went through display homes at all. Only one who was willing to discuss anything. The others were not so interested. Oh I think the other good builder who cared was Scott Park homes? Yes we have had issues- the garage and the crossover increases. Plus I think the whole telstra velocity thing needs to be sorted between builders and estate developers. They all need to know whats needed of each other so I can know what's needed. Overall though the time frame has been really good. I am now hoping construction goes smoothly without issues. With HBC you don't get to talk to SS you go through your CLO so I guess any issues you bring up to her and she passes it on. Re: Has anyone built with Homebuyers Centre in Perth? 31Sep 21, 2009 11:21 am I wished I found this forum earlier. Probably would have asked for some feedback on sales consultant before signing up for trouble. I wish it would go smoothly from now onwards. Cross all my fingers and toes, even my hair if it helps. Note to self, think positive. I haven't had anyone who calls me up yet, not unless I have left a message for them to return my call. I had also been the one chasing people up, not the other way round. Its almost like I'm not worth their business. Positive point would be I don't get that much of a unneccessary calls from them. Lynne, I am up to that stage of 'here take all my money' and that's all I have, nothing else to survive on other than my next pay. I've received a mail from HBC again last week and realised that my last variation which is the credit of about 3000+ was not in there, and the total cost is still the same as previous. Its like the previous meeting never did happened or probably happened in my sleep. Rang that sales consultant up and guess what, went straight into his voice mail. He rang back and informed me that he did received my email and apologies on behalf of the finance broker (whom he said worked under him directly) that the finance broker should not just get me to contact the bank and resolve it with the bank. The finance broker should do that and that someone from HBC will contact me today to confirm that the credit variation has been done up. I wonder if I am able to lodge a complaint to the Master Building Association or any organisation. It will be very nice to receive a proper apology from those who had made the errors (pointing in both direction of sales consultant and finance broker) Re: Has anyone built with Homebuyers Centre in Perth? 32Sep 23, 2009 11:06 am Yes we had the dodge Sales Consultant and then for a couple weeks we had a useless CLO but then we got a new one and she was just fantastic. It does sound like you have the same SC as lynne and i, i wonder if hes so useless why hes still working there. I hope the construction goes smoothly. Qiao Ru, i guess when theres not alot to report on they dont call for 2 weeks or so unless you call them. But this may mean the sales consultant will do that to the next victim... Prestart went very smoothly... But some of the prices are out of the ordinary, though it is lower than I thought I might ended with. The prestart lady even managed to get some credit back for part of the drive way which they didn't ended up using. I've changed the onsuite double shower into a combination of shower and bathtub. Like the idea of soaking in the hot tub. I can't believe that I was able to get a credit back! But this means that I have to pop back to the tiling place to make sure that the design of the tiles are done correctly. Prestart lady found out the reason to why no one has rang me. The sales consultant has not bother to correct his error of typing in the wrong contact number of mine Re: Has anyone built with Homebuyers Centre in Perth? 35Sep 29, 2009 5:57 pm Oh... Any hints on which garage door company should I approach? As the living room is linked to the garage, there isn't any security as without that garage door anyone can enter the property. HBC did our garage door, but we want to add an additional door to the rear of the garage as it is open (not bricked up). i noted on the addenda that the garage company HBC is Garage Door Industries, but they're all the way in Bayswater, so not sure if any point in trying them. i just want my rear garage door to be automatic and rigged up to the same remote control Re: Has anyone built with Homebuyers Centre in Perth? 40Oct 01, 2009 7:34 pm Qiao Ru Ha the old wrong number huh well I'm still waiting for a ph call I am glad you got some $$ back on the drive way, I did too Oh I am guessing you me and Nicci all had the same salesguy...what does his name begin with?
