Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Home being built by Homebuyers Centre 81Apr 21, 2010 6:44 pm Did you bring up the issue of the roof tiles with your site manager? What did they say? Do you have a friend or family member who could go check the tiles out for you? I would try get someone to check it prior to receiving your keys, with winter coming up any issues with the tiles would need to be fixed sooner rather than later. Re: Home being built by Homebuyers Centre 82Apr 21, 2010 8:18 pm Are you referring to the cement pointing under the capping tiles? they usually come to do this after the plumber has been through because they tend to damage it, this can be inspected later from on top the roof better anyhow Re: Home being built by Homebuyers Centre 83Apr 23, 2010 12:59 pm Perth Builder Are you referring to the cement pointing under the capping tiles? they usually come to do this after the plumber has been through because they tend to damage it, this can be inspected later from on top the roof better anyhow That is exactly what I meant. Got it. Now I know why there are still safety rails on the roof. When you mentioned inspect from the top of the roof, does it mean I'll have to get up there to check? How do I check? Lachjor, I did not bring this issue up with the site manager as I suspected the roof has not be completed as the safety rails are still on the roof. But couldn't understand why since the internals are pretty much done until now. Re: Home being built by Homebuyers Centre 84May 19, 2010 3:53 pm My CL and Site Manager are very understanding. Was informed that the rental place I'm in will be demolished by 1 July. Based on the 9 weeks lockup that was previously given, it will be in early July before I can have the keys to the house. Informed the CL and the CL inform the Site Manager. They told me that I might be able to have the keys in 3 weeks time. My CL told me not to worry about this, just concentrate on packing up all my belongings and get ready to move once the keys are with me. I'm so touched.... They actually care for me.... Guess my bad experience with Homebuyers Centre is just with the sales person as the remaining of them are rather nice namely pre-start, CL. Would I want to build with them in the future. Probably after all I know what to look out for next time I havent, and i havent looked to much into it, but on face value its not the saviour its trying to make out to be.
