The drawing says they are screw piles. My site is a P slab. Does anyone know what the screw piles are for? Is it related to the sewer pipe which is located 5.5 m from the foundation of the house? Re: Screw piles in the slab - What For?? 2Aug 22, 2009 11:21 pm We have 21 concrete piers under our slab located in the areas where there is fill (the back half of the house where the fill is from the cut and fill and along one side where there was fill on the block). From my understanding, the piers / piles are there to support the slab where there is fill (there are other reasons due to close easments also). Check your soil report for where the fill is located on your block and where the block was filled during the cut and fill for the house. Was your site P due to fill or other reasons?
