Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 22, 2009 6:56 pm We did the deed today and paid the initial deposit for the Atlantique 40 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes. This will be our fourth built home and hopefully the last until the children have all grown up and we downsize. We opted for an additional garage add on under the roofline and opted to remove the wall in the Theatre room (as this will be the billiard room) and the Rumpus instead will now be the Theatre room. Now we need to sell our 6 year old home before we can start. The new Atlantique will go on a block over 1510 mtrs in size so we will still have plenty of room. I never thought I would be excited again at the prospect of building again but the adrenalin has started again. Will keep you updated with our progress over time if your interested. We will wait until we have sold our house to see how much we have left to spend......... I would suggest you pick the Soho facade.. its pretty affordable, isnt overused and looks great. In my estate alone, there are about 5 -6 Carlisle Waterview facades!!! They do look nice and modern though! You know the ex-display Atlantique Mk1 with Soho facade, in Cranbourne North... I live near there. Might take a pic of the facade for you next time I drive by! But theres a pic of it here... http://www.carlislehomes.com.au/about/guarantee.html Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! Ummmm we are lucky as where we live and the new block we purchased (same estate) there is not a single Atlantique here, and this block was the last one in the estate (consisting of 15 stages) in Langwarrin so the facade is not a problem. I love the Soho but wondering since their is more timber, maintenance may be an issue every 3 or 4 years with restaining etc. The Waterview has less timber planking..........and is a little cheaper......... True with the staining and maintenance, but its not like you have to stain the timber 100000 times a year... Isnt the Waterview facade no charge?? What render/brick/roof colours are you thinking? Have you seen the typical Waterview facade colours EVERYONE uses? Are you sure the additional garage wont overpower/ruin the facade???? As for the extra garage, i dont think it would ruin the look of the facade........there are multiple homes here were we are that have 3, 4 even 5 garages most with facades......so we are not worried.......it's also that we need the extra garage......need the space...... One of the big downsides with Carlisle is not being able to see all their awesome facades! Most of the facades are on display, therefore on the website. Is that what your meaning? Most of the more expensive facades are used in the displays. Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! We are also planning to build Atlantik 36 with Carlisle. I have been reading some good feedback here. Will let you know when we start. MDV2009 Re: Just signed today for Atlantique 40 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes 20Aug 25, 2009 3:32 pm Hi marclau - congrats on signing up. It is a big decision to finally decide on a design. It will be a great house. We built the Carlisle Monaco 32. Just an idea for you on site costs - our slab was P for 'problematic' due to slope and a couple of trees. We had a cut and fill of 1100mm, two retaining walls, and some additional piers etc. Total site costs came in at around $20k. Our land is similar size to yours, but we were limited with a stupid shaped building envelope due to large setbacks from trees and boundary - so we didn't have a lot of flexibility in how the house could fit on the block, and even needed dispensation to go outside the envelope on one side. So - if you have minimal slope and not a stupid building envelope you may be pleasantly surprised with site costs! Here's hoping for you anyway. Jo Settled In - Home Search and Relocation Services - http://www.settledin.com.au http://www.movingbacktotassie.blogspot.com/ viewtopic.php?t=9571 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37139 Carlisle use to sneak a water resistant "Performance Solution" into their contracts.
