Does anyone else out there have the same problem? Logic would tell me that raising it up by a few millimetres when installing it would have made it look alot better! Our termguard termite protection system was also installed, and they managed to start the excavation for our driveway prior to all of this rain, as shown in the pic below: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The plan for this week is for the tilers to return to carry out the tiling to the main living areas. Hope you have a great week! Cheers, CMET Re: Left of Square: CMET’s Journey...with EBH! Vanity pics 09/02 82Feb 14, 2010 9:20 pm Hi CMET, You're house is coming along great, the bathroom and kitchen both look fantastic. Regarding the architraves not lining up between the stairs and the rest of your top floor, I certainly wouldn't be satisfied with that job. Effectively the moulding in the stairwell has been placed to cover the expansion joint that is found between the gyprock between the ground and top floors. They could have resolved this better by either using a larger width moulding in the stairs to line the profile up with that of the top floor, or pvc strip which creates a slight shadow line that looks quite good. Have a chat with your SS about it and see what they can do Re: Left of Square: CMET’s Journey...with EBH! Vanity pics 09/02 83Feb 14, 2010 9:22 pm Hey CMET,
I must say I hadn't thought about a feature tile like yours, and am liking it the more I see it. I like the closeup of the tile you have on your blog. Cheers Re: Left of Square: CMET’s Journey...with EBH! Vanity pics 09/02 84Feb 14, 2010 9:28 pm Hi CMET, Looks like there has been a hive of activity again at your place this week. Bathrooms look great & the vanities & fittings make it complete now. Hope the weather improves this week so your driveway can get done. I like the closeup of the tile you have on your blog. Cheers Thanks hsv216, We are glad that it has come together as well as it has, given that it was quite a late change forced by a tile being discontinued. Sometimes it can be a good thing, even with the inconvenience. Cheers, CMET Re: Left of Square: CMET’s Journey...with EBH! Will definitely take your points into account and raise it with our SS and see what options they can raise to rectify it. Hopefully it can be sorted before they progress any further with finishing it off. Cheers, CMET Re: Left of Square: CMET’s Journey EBH! Bath Taps Handles 14/2 87Feb 15, 2010 7:02 am Agree with Ikon - very d.o.d.g.y indeed. That's just pure & simply LAZY work. Unbelievable. ! and from a so-called 'boutique' builder!! Put your foot down here CMET. That is soooo not quality work. Apart from that, your house is looking just great ! Looking forward to more pics. I have sent a message through this morning on a few issues including this one, so I will let you know how it goes. Will post some more pics this week, especially after the floor tiles go down. Cheers, CMET Re: Left of Square: CMET’s Journey EBH! Bath Taps Handles 14/2 89Feb 15, 2010 3:23 pm Oh I would not be happy with that not lining up either. Seriously the person installing it would realise it looks stupid. Can you tell me how mcuh it cost in upgrading to floor to ceiling tiling? I'm trying to decide if we want to do it or not. Since we've just decided not to go with stone benches I could stretch the budget to the tiling to the ceiling Left of Square: CMET’s Journey...... with EBH! Tiling Pics 1 90Feb 16, 2010 9:23 pm Hi Guys, The improved weather this week has meant that they have been able to pour our driveway crossover: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hopefully, they can get the rest of it done tomorrow before the rain returns. The carpenters where back yesterday to finish a few things off and finally installed our Home Theatre doors: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We are happy with how they look, and do not restrict much of the light into the entry way. The tilers started on the main floor tiling today. Most of the tiles are laid, with just the grouting to be completed. They have also started our kitchen splashback tiles, and we are happy with how they look in contrast to the kitchen cupboards and floor tiles. They can then complete the balcony, and start on the entry and alfresco, which will all be done in the same tile. Here are the pics: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The roof guys also came back to fix up a few small issues, as well as install our whirlybird on the ground floor roof. The plan for the rest of the week is to complete the driveway, with the painters to come back to complete the external paintwork and the electricians to complete the fit-off. Further to our architrave stair issue, I have spoken with our SS and he has said that it is more of a structural issue between the two floors. We discussed some alternatives, but we decided to keep it as is, to avoid any further cracking issues in the future. Cheers, CMET Re: Left of Square: CMET’s Journey EBH! I will post some pics once they have been cleaned. The plan is for the electricians to be back tomorrow to carry out the electrical fit-off, which should take us through to Monday. Then we just have the external paintwork, the shower screens and mirrors followed by the carpets. Cheers, CMET Re: Left of Square: CMET’s Journey, with EBH! Loretta Hi Loretta, The pattern is called Ashlar Slate. We are really happy with how it has turned out and it is one that not many people seem to be using in the estate. Driveway Pics 18/2 97Feb 18, 2010 9:36 pm Rowena driveway looks fab! ..and I like your choice of tile colour as it blends in well in the kitchen. Thanks Rowena, This tile was one that we where not sure about and probably caused the most angst, as most people seem to be going for glass splashbacks at the moment. We are happy with how it looks, and hopefully they will be back soon to finish it off! Cheers, CMET Left of Square: CMET’s Journey, with EBH! Hope you get that inspection date soon, Loretta Thanks Loretta, The towel rails are not heated, they are what they call the "Euro" style with four rails across it. Our SS hopes to carry out his inspections at the end of next week, and our PCI should follow in a few weeks after that. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
