Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 21, 2009 8:46 am Hi I am building the Hamilton 252 in Queensland and am just about to go and choose my colours and wondered what people thoughts were on these. Half strength limed white to render on outside, Nougart Elanbana roof tiles Dune Garage, living room fascade and Fascia. White windows Jarrah front door and feature on roof Fascade (Pavillion Fascade). I am having limed white internal walls, so thought I would run the theme inside and out. I have seen this colour on a friends house and it is actually quite a warm colour even though it has a slight grey tone. Kitchen is white with the black ceasar stone benches. I am having a white splash back done as a brick effect with black mosaics top and bottom. Bathrooms are white 600x300 tiles with essential Mocha floor and decor tiles. With feature tiles of mosaic light grey, light green and white I have selected tiles and have colour selection for rest on Monday. Plans should go in to council today or Monday and apparently they are only taking about 1 week to 10 days on the sunshine coast (fingers crossed). Would welcome any feedback. Just had a hiccup with covenant as apparently I can't have a wall over 6.5 m without a feature!! Stupid rule. I am putting on the plantation fascade and I am having to put on another brick pier the other side of the study to comply with the development ahh! Apparently this will be done Monday and get covenant approval so will go in council next week!! Re: Building coral Hamilton 252 7Aug 22, 2009 6:30 pm ohh they;'re really good colour choices i like them all!!!! my covernant was the same if the wall was longer than 7 meters, bloody covernant drove me crazy. but in the end even though youve torn out all your hair, weigh an extra 7 kilos and have no more money... you end up with an amazing looking house that you'll love forever. welcome to the club caitie Al & Caitie- Building the Hamilton 278 (Coral) at Narangba Re: Building coral Hamilton 252 8Aug 22, 2009 8:31 pm kazmask Hi I have selected tiles and have colour selection for rest on Monday. I'll just leave the colour feedback to the experts on this Forum but I do know that the Private Certifier that Coral uses is very quick in delivering an approval. Ours took just 8 working days. We had our site start yesterday and the buldozer left a nice big building patch on our property. Looking forward to hear your experiences. Re: Building coral Hamilton 252 9Aug 22, 2009 8:52 pm Love the colours. We are going pavillion facade on the Hamilton 27. I think the photo is of the Palazzo facade. It looks really good in the photo. I wish I could visualise what the pavillion will look like, but have been told there isn't another Hamilton 27 being built with that facade in QLD Re: Building coral Hamilton 252 10Aug 22, 2009 8:57 pm I have made lots of changes to the plans. I have tried scanning and uploading the file, but keeps saying extension tif is not allowed. Sorry new to this, so don't know what I am doing wrong. Would appreciate anyones help My changes are Upgrade kitchen to galley kitchen with free standing cooker Put walk in pantry at end of galley kitchen Delete hallway behind study and extend study Linen cupboard half study and half family room Delete doorway from Family to games room and put 1600 wide by 12oo high opening with bifold shutters bed 1 shorten walk in and put spa in ensuite with opening 900 w by 1200 h. Cavity sliding door to ensuite and normal opening door to walk in Bed 2 extend to bulk head bed 3 and 4 extend by 600 m 3 meter wide window to games and delete window on activity room side Bulkhead cupboard and shelves in garage 2.7 metre ceilings I think they are all the changes. Then you select the image icon on the thread and add the code, i think I used the last code on photobucket. Hope this helps. I think I'm going to have to go curb-crawling around the new estates again for colour ideas. At least the kids sleep in the car while I do it! Did any of you guys ever take photos of houses you saw you liked (that weren't display homes)? I was dying to take one of a house I saw but thought it might seem to creepy for the occupants/neighbours. Re: Building coral Hamilton 252 17Aug 22, 2009 11:48 pm will0305 aha. Almost as creepy as us spotting a Hamilton being built in Pacific Pines today & us sneaking a look inside Welcome Kazmask - as the others have said, you will find lots of us building with Coral on here so be ready for lots of Q&A sessions! Cheers Kim Re: Building coral Hamilton 252 19Aug 23, 2009 3:33 pm Hi Ok I used photo bucket, much easier, thanks for the help. I am choosing Dune for the fascia of the house, but not sure for the gutter, any ideas!! Got colour selection tomorrow Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The thing I have changed from this is I shortened the length between the 2 kitchen work tops. I originally had lost lots or room in the meals with how they did it for me, so I brought it back 600 ml. The corner of the bench in the meals area actually has a double cupboard underneath facing the meals, thought no one would want to sit and have breakfast facing a wall and always good to have more storage. Also they did my openings wrong in the ensuite, as should have been only 900mm wide with a cavity door to ensuite and the one in the family/games should have been 1600mm wide and 1200 deep, so this is now changed. I am putting white bifoold shutters in both areas. I think this should look nice. Also the wall in the family roomis wrong! From tender to contract they decided to shorten the hallway so was only level with the entrance to my bedroom instead of level with the garage door/back of ensuite. They have had to change this too. Don't know why they did that!! Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13746 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1768 6 11528 |
