Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 16, 2009 6:21 pm Hi just checking our tiling quote, we only have one at the moment but are getting two more. The one we have is about $21,573 without tiles. So the breakdown is $16,025.97 For total cost of tiling , $2599 for waterproofing (Dryflex membrane 47 m's at $55/m), and 986.26 for slab preparation (priming 164.377 m's @ $6/m) + 1962.19 GST. The area tiled is charged at $65 per square meter for 200.5 m which adds up to $13,036, + 2250 3 bathroom bedding/silicone (500 for each bathroom for bedding and 250 for each bathroom silicone)+ 193 for skirting, so I cant account for 500 bucks or so there. Not going to go with these guys as it seems like a crazy price, they charge a flat rate for bedding and silicone which seems stupid as you have all different sizes for the bathrooms, so silicone and bedding alone costs 2250. Our total floor area for bedding is 24 m2 in the bathrooms. I've seen some other forums quote about 45 to 50 dollars for laying porcelain tiles with a rectified edge including adhesive and grout, but every tiling joint you go to sais it'll cost 60 bucks per meter. http://www.fordforums.com.au/printthread.php?t=11258763 viewtopic.php?t=12130 I also found a website http://www.tilingrates.com.au/ which has a porcelain tiling rate of 45-$50/ m which is really good if it includes adhesive and grouting. there are some pictures on their site which show porcelain laid, and they also use monoflex glue, which is what our first quote is for. does anyone have any recent prices for porcelain or ceramic laying? I think maybe the way to cut back costs on this would be to lay the exterior tiles ourselves and get someone who charges less for the bedding, waterproofing and silicone. I believe the grout and glue are very expensive. This labour cost was for 600x600 porcelain tiles. Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7546 Hi, I'm clearing the tiles from our horrid 50 year old bathroom and preparing to lay new ones. Bugger of a job getting the old… 0 8088 4 14463 |
