Have you been rendered??? lol- where are the photo's?
Your PCI is getting sooo close! Have you received your certificate of occupancy yet? Or do we only receive it after PCI?

Hi Shelley, yes I have officially been coloured and rendered....lol I'm not going to put facade photos up for security reasons - just incase! But it's looking good! PCI is now only 8days away (and I'm counting!) Can't believe how close it is now..... So very exciting. I'm pretty sure the certificate of occupancy is issued after PCI once Carlisle's building inspector has been through the house. We're 11 days away from PCI, but there is still a lot to be done! Last I checked on Monday, we still didn't have carpet, garage door, or outside painting and render done... I'm going out to look on Thursday night. It's so exciting that it's almost over, and we're soooo close to getting keys! Busy trying to think of all the things that need organising- bins, fences, concreters, blinds. I'm busy de-cluttering at the moment, in anticipation for packing boxes. Aargh! Yeah I know the feeling - currently doing the exact same thing. I actually got onto my fences/neighbours a while ago, so they're already booked in. Concreters seem to be hard to get at the moment, either that or they dont want the work over christmas! Bins though.... how do I get those? I'm assuming the council? We still have a bit of work to happen.... external paint needs to be done as well as the internal painting needs to be redone...(there are paint cans in the house though can't imagine what they are doing there as they never seem to move... lol) Garage door still needs to go on, and my render has to be fixed... it looks good but not great. Down pipes were done, but from memory I don't think the ducted heating has been done with the heating ducts in the roof and all. Maybe they put that in right at the end. Seems a bit odd. Maybe the SS has forgotten? I'm sure your SS hasn't forgotten. Did you have ducts put in for cooling? Ours were done with the electrical fit-off. My house has a case of chicken pox... Bit worried, because they haven't started external painting, and their inspector has been through internally already. Re: Not long now............. 406Nov 12, 2010 2:24 pm hmmm... that's strange. The inspector still hasn't been through our place yet. I'm still waiting on external painting to be done too, and the render on our house has to be redone as I am not happy with it and the SS agreed. Decided to also book a property inspector to come through on Thursday too, as they seem to look at things that I wouldn't even consider checking, so I think it'll be worth the money, especially since it's our first time building. If you do find something that I should keep an eye out for, can you post it here and let me know? Hi Shelley, It's all very exciting but I'm a little nervous about tomorrow. We have hired an independant inspector to go through the house - its our investment, we may as well make sure things are done right, but I'm abit worried, as I drove past the house yesterday and there was still so much that needed to be done. Our render still isn't completed after they have redone it, our ducted heating vents still aren't in, no splashback or garage door installed, external painting hasn't been done and there is internal painting that needs to be REDONE, and that's what I can see. There's no way that can all be done in a day. ( I wouldn't think) and the worst part is that the Valuer from the bank won't allow the cheque to be drawn unless the house looks finished, which it clearly isn't at the moment and the cheque can take upto a week to be received.... I just don't want to be delayed, and it's looking like I will. So I'm a little frustrated at the moment, but you never know, there may be a lot of things happening today so I guess we have to trust that things will be finished. But I"ll let you know how it goes. Also remember that after PCI there is usually a week or more for the faults to be rectified, eg in our case the electrician will come back now once to fix what they already know about and anything else we raise at PCI. Good luck - we are in the same boat as you!!! My husband insisted on changing our PCI from the end of this week until Monday as he wants most stuff completed before PCI - otherwise what is the point! We too are a little worried about things taking longer as we have to be out of our rental in a few weeks - so feeling rather stressed right now - as I guess everyone is - anyway good luck with it all I hope it all gets finished quickly - sounds like we will get our keys around the same time! Our external painting and garage door were both done yesterday... We've been told that the painter is due to come in today, to fix up the things already marked by the inspector, and on Friday our clean will occur... Have you received your Cert Of Occupancy or your final invoice yet? I spoke to my CLE, she said that the Certificate will normally be issued around PCI. Have you spoken to your SS about the splashback and heating vents? Fingers crossed that they are extremely busy today and get their acts together! Hey belial, it went pretty well. Got one major gripe fixed thankfully with the shower tiling.... made a point that we were very unhappy and wanted it fixed before we paid. But most things seem to have been already noted, with the execption of a few minor things. Mostly paint and wall touch ups seem to be the most common things. There was some exterior paint issues too with a few items being painted the wrong colour but these will be rectified which is the main thing. It'll be interesting to see what the independant inspector picked up too. We're expecting his report tomorrow. Your SS didn't appear to be too enthralled with the whole examination of the outside, not stalking you just waiting for one of the tradies to arrive to give me a quote. Good to hear it went well though. Shelley, our SS told us they usually allow 1-1.5hrs, I started giggling and suggested he not make plans for the afternoon (ours is scheduled for 1pm).
