Browse Forums Building A New House Re: didn't want to, but building again 21Aug 17, 2009 10:34 pm hi, houseofl, we don't know what the outcome will be , however, I'm expecting that we will be asked to continue working with the rude s.s, and advised to further complain if he is rude. I believe that bridges are already broken, and it will be a waste more time and effort. I keep the updates coming, cheers Re: didn't want to, but building again 22Aug 18, 2009 11:41 am Reading your story makes me cry. I guess these people have no conscious to behave in such a horrible way considering the family situation that you are going through. I hope these builders and their staff learn one day hard way that they are not untouchables. Karma is dog and they will get 10 folds back if they keep on abusing their position and keep on treating people in such a demeaning way. If I could I would slap these people. I am sorry, I am just angry at their behavior. I think consumer affairs is such a good idea. Why not try going to media like today tonight/current affairs. You have got all the aces here. Just play your game right. I know its very easy for us to suggest all this but its you who will be going through all this ordeal. But no matter what, don't be bullied by them, no matter how much you wanna give up. Good luck mate! Hope everything sorts out for you. Keep on updating us. Re: didn't want to, but building again 23Aug 20, 2009 11:25 pm here's the downside on the update, We received a letter from the owner, he apologizes for the stress caused and states that it wasn't intentional.(if you intentionally ignore someone or are rude it's intentional) The letter goes on to say that they are disturbed by my complaint as they provided free product ,(I guess that we shouldn't expect proper service or a well built house, because we were given something free) it goes on to say that the supervisor which we complained about is a very competent supervisor and that we can not be issued another supervisor, so that's it in a nutshell, we are expected to continue with this rude supervisor, (we will not deal with this s.s any more, at all), I expect our list of rectifications is being ignored ,as they continue to install baths and spa's incorrectly, we are still waiting on the inspection report from the brickwork, but not holding our breath on that. We are waiting now to see what they will fix but expect to be contacting consumer affairs. Re: didn't want to, but building again 25Aug 21, 2009 9:12 am I am so sorry to hear this. I tell ya I would name and shame these people who think they can get away even with a murder. They are taking advantage of you as they know that you don't have any other way out. They know you can't do anything but to put up with them. Its such a shame. Bast$rds.... Re: didn't want to, but building again 26Aug 21, 2009 9:22 am I just saw this thread and just wanted to wish you and your family the best of luck with your new build As another parent, I can't imagine the struggles you have gone through in the past few years My karma ran over your dogma Re: didn't want to, but building again 27Aug 29, 2009 7:45 pm Hi to all, there hasn't been contact from the builder at all since we sent a registered letter listing our defects. The letter was posted a month ago. Work on the site however is continuing and both baths are now tiled and hobbed, both have no waterproof membrane both are excessively high, the kids bath is really deeply scratched and the spa bath is in the wrong place, according to the plan. The inspector hired by them to inspect the brickwork found many problems and two walls are to come down. 2 pallets of bricks have been delivered to redo some brickwork, cant wait to see the job they do on that. We caught the kitchen people on site and showed them several problems, and explained that we sent these defects to the builder weeks ago, they said they had not received any response from the builder and would contact them. The kitchen guys were friendly, understanding and co-operative. Thats it for now, still waiting for some contact from our builder or supervisor or really anyone from the building company, cheers Re: didn't want to, but building again 29Aug 29, 2009 8:35 pm hi sherwin, we will pursue consumer affairs but we have to give them the opportunity to repair first. We are worried that we will get little help from any industry watchdogs, but will try, cheers You may still have a case, but your next step is to speak to a lawyer. 3 1617 I would be wary. Is you site demilished but nothing else done? Sounds like liquidity problems to me. Our builder did the same. Got hundreds of thousands of dollars of… 2 15391 Sounds like rubbish to me. Ask for the contamination report which I doubt they have. If it's part of a normal subdivision it would have had a contamination report done… 9 5645 |
