Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Quote - Any tips?? 2Aug 12, 2009 8:26 pm We have just gone through this process, and it can get confusing. You need to get more than one quote we got quotes from 3 builders all with similar specs 2 came in at around the same price the 3rd was $100 000 more which was 25% increase in build costs. We made our own spread sheet to compare the 3. Check on things like PC allowances for Kitchens, appliances carpets etc, with tiles some spec gave a $25sqm allowance where another was $35sqm. When it came to choosing between the 2 builders it came down to the quality or workmanship and there flexibility and build time as a longer build time can end up costing you more. Also be clear to the builder what your budget is as the can give you options on where to save money. This has been very helpful. We definitely wish to settle and get these people out of our life. They are trying to charge us interest on late… 7 14278 Just be careful with building stability during construction, that is when the structure may be weakened, refer to your engineering drawings for stability methodology. 1 7231 Title: Expert Tips for Painting Your Own House: Insights from Brisbane Painting… 0 292 |
