Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 10, 2009 10:03 pm Hi, We've just had our tiling done today and our bricks arrived too. We're after your thoughts, we believe the bricks are considerbly darker than Espresso which is what we chose, the builder will be checking it out tomorrow. We're not happy with the colour and also not happy with the quality of the bricks, these were chosen from Cat6 and did not expect such a poor quality product, if this is the norm I'd avoid Boral at all cost! Thoughts? Is the sample from the net or on display (in daylight)? I'd love to hear what boral say about the bricks. I had dealings with them a while ago over an overcharge of plaster, and they were terrible to deal with, basically did not give a ****! A thankful person is a happy person. All the other sides of the brick are pretty flat and disgusting. I'm hoping that if you pull some of the bricks out of the pallet, you will find that the bricks are actually the right colour. All the best. All the best. Can't agree more with this. I had the same anxious thoughts about my bricks when they were delivered. Re: Boral Espresso Brick Issue 7Aug 11, 2009 7:46 am The bricks haven't been laid yet, it'll be Thursday at the earliest. Below is a pic of a pallet that has fallen apart. They all look pretty crap to me. Boral will be receiving a call today and I'll take one of our bricks to a display home in Espresso and show them the difference. THey look nice now that they have been laid. You can see pictures here, http://casadelscaramanga.blogspot.com/ The other advise I have, tell the guys that will be cleaning the bricks to take it easy on the chemicals they use for cleaning the brick face when they get to that. If they apply too much the colour will come off the bricks! At least that is what I've noticed. Also, the quality of the batches I received were better than what you show in your pictures. I'd ask them to take back and redeliver if I were you. Good luck Franco Re: Boral Espresso Brick Issue 10Dec 19, 2009 5:32 pm Hey Benji - Are you able to post any pics of how your bricks turned out? Did you have any problems with the bricks being chipped and the colour coming off? Re: Boral Espresso Brick Issue 11Dec 19, 2009 6:19 pm Wow. Good to hear they are the same bricks you chose from the sample you saw. We think our Boral bricks have a tinge of cream/yellow in them compared to the sample we saw they were more white. thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16268 2 5923 |
