Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 10, 2009 1:47 pm Ok so the block next door has just had a house finished, and we suspect been handed over to the lucky owners..we have been speculating whether it is going to be a rental or owner occupied. HOPING for owner occupied.. nothing wrong with renters..we were for 7 years but the odds of ending up with a family with 6 kids next door is a lot higher especially in this area. Not had a chance to meet the owners, I'm dreading giving them the bill for their half of the fence, I glimpsed an older couple once so hope they are but it's a big house, so looks like a family home.(and yes being next door I had a couple of private tours during construction in the twilight hours to check out the layout) But, this morning, as I was leaving for the school run, a truck was unloading a couple of pallets of wood flooring, and there are tradies laying it next door. I'm talking bare, unfinished proper wood flooring, so it surely couldn't be a rental right? Yeah I know this is a pointless thread, I'm bored, it's raining and I'm avoiding the housework. Re: What do you think? 2Aug 10, 2009 2:45 pm depends you could get lovely renters and horror owners. More than likely owners though. Re: What do you think? 3Aug 10, 2009 4:24 pm Yeah true, horror owners likely too I suppose...there are some about three house's and a road down from us, the moment he moved in he started playing doof doof music and has a drum kit and a clarinet or some such in the back shed. The elderly neighbours put their house on the market about 3 weeks later. Can't figure out why..... Our neighbour has thier patio on the same side as our lounge and the kids rooms so really hoping whoever moves in doesn't like parties. This is all big for us because we have are so far surrounded by empty blocks, sides and back, been spoiled for peace and it's our first immediate neighbour. No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6631 Looking to start the journey of becoming an owner builder in SA.
