LATROBE 320 WITH DENNIS FAMILY HOMES Re: The Miffy! - Closer to lock up 7/11 44Nov 22, 2009 8:11 am Man! I had everything typed up and then stupid internet explorer died on me~!!!!!!!! Anyway, thanks Cholo! ( : Plaster is getting hung at the moment, its been a bit slower then the builder and I would have liked, but its getting there. I have had movement though, had airconditioning and heating put in last week which is good! I originally wasn't going to put the aircon in until a couple of months after handover, but decided its probably better and neater to get everything done at the same time. I've picked all my tiles and bench colours... I'm still decided on the benchtop colours for the kitchen though. Can't decide if I go diamond gloss laminex or quartz stone... hmm Anyway, tile selections are below. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The tile at the bottom is the floor tile... went with the shiny tile instead of the matt one Tile to the left is the bathroom wall tile and next to it is the feature tile Tile to the right is the kitchen splashback tile In the centre is the benchtop samples. The cabinets will be 2pack in the colour parchment while the top will either be Roman Marble in diamond gloss, or something along these line in quartz stone. (just depends on the price) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ No date yet for completion, however it will be after Christmas now sometime in Jan I think... Sorry to hear about all your bricking issues... I need to catch up on peoples threads. Lucky you... I love your floorplan - the angled wall is great. We have a similar angle that blocks the view from the front door. We have clear glass in the door and sidelights, but all you can see from the portico is the entry, so privacy isn't a problem. It was one of the things we loved about the design - so many houses have a clear line of sight from front door straight through to family room and/or al fresco. Ooh, the laundry is fantastic too. I have a thing about laundries... The floor tiles are gorgeous - makes me wish we'd chosen tiles instead of floorboards. Re: The Miffy! - Closer to lock up 7/11 46Nov 28, 2009 9:10 am Wow Miffy your build has come along so far!!! And it looks gorgeous!!! I still wonder how much it would have cost me to upgrade to that brick, but I never got a reply from builder Is the builder still saying that you will be in before Christmas??? What a chrissy pressie that will be! Looks great, it really does! Re: The Miffy! - Still waiting... update 16/2 47Feb 16, 2010 10:32 pm Well its been quite a while since I updated this thread, a lot of stuff has been going on which has kept me busy, but the major uptake is that I'm still not in the house! Have pretty much been having delay after delay, first with the tiles (the wrong tiles were delivered) and second is the cabinets and vanities which is a bit disappointing and frankly I'm just over it a bit at this point. The major hold up, which is basically holding up everything else at this stage is getting the cabinets and vanities installed. I initially spoke to the cabinet maker back in November and they're not ready yet! He keeps blaming the Christmas break... d00d, Christmas was like 2 months ago! There was a glimmer of hope last week that they'd be in, however when the tops were delivered they delivered two out of the three tops in the wrong colour, so sent them back to get replaced... said he'd have them on Friday... today is Tuesday, nothing has happened!!! Seriously! Over it! Also not too happy with the colour, but I chose it so can't really do anything about it! The colour of the sample looks rather different to what it actually is! I was looking at a brown tone, and its actually more of a black tone so it doesn't really match with anything... Still don't have a move in date and I'm on holidays already (crap new policy which makes it hard to change holidays already booked) I just hope it gets finished sometime this year! Basically all that needs doing is installation of cabinets/vanities, carpets, pendant lights over kitchen (waiting on cabinets for the height), installation of basins/sinks (again waiting on cabinets), finish off tiling (again waiting on cabinets), installation of shower screens and mirrors, airconditioning, driveway and just other little bits! I'll have to take some pictures of Jo My Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=21736 Current Status: Frame stage complete 28.09.09 Re: The Miffy! - Sooo close 13/3 - new pics 48Mar 13, 2010 5:12 pm Yes, there has been a lot of movement in the house which conincided with the kitchen being finally installed!! It only took 4 months! Anyway, I'm really happy with how the kitchen has come up and with how the colours have blended together! The only things remaining is the carpet, installation of the appliances, door handles and tv points and a couple of electrical things like lights over the kitchen benchtop and a replacement of a couple of points along with final touchup of the paint etc. Most things should be finished off on Monday and the builder will be submitting for the COO on Wednesday! Anyway, here are some pics I took on a late night visit to the house. It looks beautiful!!! Do you have any current shots from the outside? Not long and you will be in your house, how exciting!!! I love the feature strip you've used in your shower, its very nice!! I know you probably have said somewhere on here, but what is the colour of your walls? Its very very nice Re: The Miffy! - Sooo close 13/3 50Mar 14, 2010 2:33 pm Thanks Frogger! Its taken a while but am really happy with how its turning out! Yes, I have outside shots, I'll post some for your viewing pleasure lol I'm hoping that I'll know soon when I can move in. Fingers crossed for next week!! It took a while for that feature tile to get selected, I kept changing my mind to what I wanted lol! Walls are Feather White, I think its Burger or Dulux or something lol. It was actually a suggestion from my builder which was good! Here's some pics of the concrete at the back that has been done already. Once the other fence is up (hopefully Wednesday) then the remaining concrete will be completed! http://www.miffers.com/House%20Pics/kitchen%020.JPG http://www.miffers.com/House%20Pics/kitchen%022.JPG http://www.miffers.com/House%20Pics/kitchen%024.JPG And here is a really bad pic I took on my phone of the front of the house at night. Did your concreting come with the house?? I don't suppose you know how much the path around the house was do you?? Thats what I want, but I have no idea how much that would cost me I'm not having any down lights at all, decided to stick with the batten type. But!!! Having the down lights at the front looks realy smik!! Re: The Miffy! - Sooo close 13/3 56Mar 15, 2010 8:04 pm Frogger That looks SO damn good!!!! Did your concreting come with the house?? Having the down lights at the front looks realy smik!! I'm just glad I haven't stuffed up anything too badly lol. The only thing that I'm not that happy with are the bathroom vanity tops... I could have picked a nicer top! I actually did the concreting seperately from the house so know exactly how much it cost. I got it a little bit cheaper as my Uncle did it for me. The back bit cost me $5.5k but from memory he said he'd usually charge around $8 - 9k I think for the same amount. The front concrete is going to cost me the same amount! ARGH lol Thanks Rowena! It took quite a few trips to the tile shop before I found the right tile, but am really happy with how it turned out. ( : Thanks Kek! Yes not long to go, I just want to move in there and start enjoying the house! I love the Newport bricks, they are very elegant. Keep taking lots of photos for me, I love seeing them! Re: The Miffy! - Sooo close 13/3 58Mar 19, 2010 8:10 pm Hey housemouse! Yes, our external colours are quite similar! I think the only differences are the gutters and windows, otherwise everything else is the same pretty much! I had the same thought about the Newport bricks, when I saw them at a display home I was like, I have to have them! I'll take more pictures soon! LOve the colours. We have chosen the same bricks as you and we love them. Hope they will be around when we start to build end of this year. We chose jasper gutter, fasia, windows and doors. Re: The Miffy! - Sooo close 13/3 60Mar 19, 2010 9:38 pm Hey Yellow!! Thanks for that! Tried to keep the colours as netural as possible so that I can change colours in the house with accessories... i think its a cheaper way should I get bored with something then having to change everything lol Your house will look great with the colours you've chosen as well!
