Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 15, 2009 3:59 pm Hey ppls, My application to the coucil was put in the 9th June and still haven't heard anything. Apparently Cockburn Council is the worst to deal with coz they have so many delays compared to other councils. So, I was wondering if anyone else out there was in the same boat? I plan on calling them tomorrow to see what they have to say... Thanks. Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it! Plus a shell of a house with stuff inside ! Re: Is anyone waiting on Building Licence from Cockburn Council? 3Jul 15, 2009 5:43 pm Hi there, I just got off the phone with City of Cockburn and my application was put in on 2nd of June. I was told that currently they are processing applications that were submitted end of May. They will look in to my application next week and we hope to hear something from them either end of next week or the week after. I have to agree that they back a massive backlog !! I am keeping my fingers crossed! Candylea : Where about are you building? Building at Elara, Marsden Park Re: Is anyone waiting on Building Licence from Cockburn Council? 4Jul 15, 2009 6:57 pm Mine was lodged on 26th June.. and I'm still waiting for approval as well.. You can check your application status online here -> http://masterview.cockburn.wa.gov.au/ma ... fault.aspx Re: Is anyone waiting on Building Licence from Cockburn Council? 5Jul 15, 2009 8:16 pm Hey, thanks for your replies. I know about that application tracking site, I check it nearly everyday nothin has changed... it says they "acknowledge" it then day it was put in. I work at my builder, the girl that handles the building licences said they are waiting about 8 weeks atm for them ... I think they need a new processing system! Re: Is anyone waiting on Building Licence from Cockburn Council? 6Jul 16, 2009 1:08 am My builder submitted our licence to Cockburn Council in May 2009 then had a small "Oopsy Daisy" and pulled our plans from being given building licence the day before our finance ran out. Luckily my very persuasive boyfriend managed to fix the problem and Cockburn Council were completely awesome in this situation for us. (I do get the impression that the council is quiet professional doesn't like to let on if there has been problems with the builder getting all of the neccessary paperwork to the council etc - but I could be wrong.) If that hadn't have happened then I think our plans would have only taken two or three weeks to go through. Maybe because everyone is rushing to get plans in before the First home buyers grant finishes they are a little over loaded? *Built with Gemmill Homes in WA* Slab - 1st June 2009 Plate Height - 17th June 2009 Lock Up - 18th August 2009 PCI - 5th October 2009 Hand Over - 15th Oct 2009 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20844 Re: Is anyone waiting on Building Licence from Cockburn Council? 7Jul 16, 2009 3:33 am Manda Maybe because everyone is rushing to get plans in before the First home buyers grant finishes they are a little over loaded? Hmm.. that might be true.. tho all you need is to have the building contract signed before 30 Sept 2009. Re: Is anyone waiting on Building Licence from Cockburn Council? 8Aug 03, 2009 5:16 pm Has anyone had a response yet? On the Application status tracker I'm up to "Application Assessment Complete? 03/08/2009 Complete" today... hopefully the license will be sent out and construction to start soon.... Re: Is anyone waiting on Building Licence from Cockburn Council? 9Aug 03, 2009 8:29 pm Woohooooo!!! I just checked the tracker to try and work out which one you were ycp, and mine says the same thing... should get our licences tomorrow I looked earlier today but the status hadn't changed. Now onto scheduling.. who knows how long that will take, depends on business of builder I guess. Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it!
