Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Ultimate Homes in Perth - kitchen bench installed 261Dec 18, 2009 12:30 am We wish we had an induction cooktop but alas it is just a standard gas 5 burner one. Mrs Dragon talked to the painters and organised for them to paint the house as a cash job. We have a great supervisor who didn't mind the painter doing it before handover! Saves me a sore neck doing it myself or having to organise it after handover!
The painters are fabulous. They "suggested" that the colour we selected for the front render would not look great with the gutters and brick so selected another colour for us. They also "suggested" that we should have the french doors and shelving front rails varnished rather than painted (better for us as it will match the Karri wood floors that we are having). No official word but our construction coordinator tells us towards the end of January. Re: Ultimate Homes in Perth - kitchen bench installed 262Dec 18, 2009 12:40 am looking great Dragon! color selections are really coming together well ! Nice! Hope you are enjoying the new house but I bet there is lots of work to do over the break. Our main living areas is Solver Seagull! Looks awesome! Congratulations! Not long now until handover? Re: Ultimate Homes in Perth - electrical finals 270Jan 14, 2010 12:10 am Jax&Trav - thankyou. It does seem to be coming together now. Haven't heard officially from our CC but talking to the SS yesterday, about 3-4 weeks until handover. Kath1773 - Hmmm you got a great eye if you can pick the Simply White Gloss doors and door frames! I am impressed. More progress today. They seem to be in warp drive now. Plumbing is all done except the gas boost hot water unit which has not been installed. The sparkies are going great guns and installed the oyster lights in the main living areas and the external spotlights. They have already started installing the light bulbs in the study and bedrooms. McBecks - here are the photos of the trident lever taps. I am impressed. Hahaha....of course not. I saw that they were simply white from your paint schedule that you posted. I was just wondering if they were Gloss finish? Your house is looking AMAZING Dragon! Its all coming together so, so well. You and Mrs D must be pretty impressed and excited to have handover soon no doubt! Can I ask with the taps, I was expecting them to be fixed with the tap handles facing the other way (ie the right handle pointing to 3 o'clock and the left handle pointing to 9 o'clock)... did you ask for the taps to face "into" the faucet or is that just the way they put them on? Re: Ultimate Homes in Perth - electrical finals 275Jan 15, 2010 9:56 am Very good. We noticed that the taps are installed the "wrong" way too. They should point outwards (this also make the C and H on the taps the right way up so that you can read them!) We are getting very excited and want to get the handover inspection done and get the keys. I have even organised the insurance so that there is no delays with the final payment to the builder. Can't wait for the glass splashback, actually nervous at the same time as we hope the colour matches the rest of it. Also toilet has been removed so another sign that we are getting towards the end. Sveta - did you sort out your air conditioner? Re: Ultimate Homes in Perth - toilet removed. 280Jan 17, 2010 10:07 pm hi dragon, yes i did. we are getting a 20 kw Daikin. Actually one of the members on the forum, the boatman, gave me the best quote but unfortunately i had accepted the quote from Ford and Doonan at Kardinya a week before i recieved boatman's quote Boatman's quote was $650 cheaper. But the quote we accepted also included 2 return vents and 2 more sophisticated control, i think its called v2 max i think. Also they were going to suspend the ducts in the roof space, which we liked. So i think in a way we did alright.
