Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 02, 2009 5:41 pm Have just returned from my new house and I am very annoyed that someone has jemmied open a window damaging my window frame. I think they have stolen the kitchen sinks and my very expensive front door handle. What annoys me the most was that the builder didn't even lock the house this weekend and the thieves could of just opened my living room door. Have many people had their houses broken into and what was stolen? Re: New House broken into 2Aug 02, 2009 5:49 pm Sorry to hear of your incident. I have had a window smashed but, fingers crossed, nothing else. Contact your SS and advise them. Until handover, insurance for this type of thing is the builder's responsibility. I know thats cold comfort for being burgled but a house, any house under contruction is easy pickings for undesirables of society. Re: New House broken into 3Aug 02, 2009 5:53 pm I would of preferred if they smashed the window, thats much easier to replace than a window frame Re: New House broken into 4Aug 02, 2009 6:01 pm A week after my mate had moved in, the tradies next door moved in whilst they were out at work and completely cleaned out all the new furniture. They ended up getting caught with the furniture at one of their houses.
