Hi all
I've posted this before but am hoping to get a fresh perspective so we can make a firm decision.
Our house can't be connected to gas mains and faces north/south, with north being the front of our house.
So we either put solar panels with an electric boost for our hot water system on the front (no thanks!). Or mount the solar panels on a reverse frame on the western pitch to catch the northern sun, which would mean we could see it peeking out over the rooftop. Not happy with that look either.
Our only other option is to go with a heat pump. But I've heard and read so many negative comments about the noise they make.
Has anyone installed a heat pump and can report that they're 100% happy with it?
I wish we could go and see one in action because there is a big difference between claims it sounds like a refrigerator running vs an airconditioning unit.
Anyone care to share their thoughts on heat pumps?
