Hi all
We are building a new home with one of the major project home builders. Today we receive a call from their head office saying that we owe an extra $1400 to install recycled water on our property. When I asked why, they said it was due to the fact that they thought we were under Gold Coast City Council zoning, not Logan City and it is a requirement of the Logan City Council to have recycled water on the property.
Am I right in assuming that a fixed price contract means a fixed price contract and that if their sales consultant and their Head Office got it wrong and said we were under the Gold Coast City Council, then too bad for them? It seems unfair that now we have to find an extra $1400 (which we really dont have) due to a number of people being incompetent?
Just another reason I wish I never went with this builder!
