Browse Forums Building A New House Re: 1st Home - House coming along nicely. 161Sep 09, 2010 2:53 am Ok so mowed our front lawn for the first time on tuesday. It looks much better. It was looking a little raggedy. Its so nice to have some lawn. Can wait to be able to walk on it. Cut that, cant wait to be able to walk around block without worrying about getting a ton of mud stuck to your shoes. But thats still a way off, havent even started our backyard yet. We have two sides of fence, so now can see where part of our block ends. Will post pics when I am on here again with my computer. Have started working on our aviary, well have paved the floor of it anyway. Still have to erect it, then we can have splash and tt living with us. It will be nice to wake up to the sound of birds again. Started working on the retaining wall for other side, but have been stuck with holes for a while. Have to find time to go and purchase sleepers and concrete from bunnings. Maybe this weekend. Still have our huge pile of dirt, which should decrease when we put up our retaining wall. well thats it for the moment, have to get back to work. Will update you all shortly and post pics. NEW PICS!! 164Sep 14, 2010 1:05 pm Bought some new bar stools, finally found some I liked which would suit the furniture we're interested in. And also put deposit down for it, so should have house fully furnished by mid November. Have been waiting over 3 years for this furniture, so a little longer wont hurt us. Also finally started working on our other retaining wall, so should be all fully fenced by october hopefully. And completing the retaining wall should get rid of our dirt pile in our backyard which would be nice. Ok heres a pic of our lovely new bar stools. Thanks themax, Prefer to go a bit more neutral so that it doesnt get too outdated, and when I saw these stools fell in love. Had been looking for 4 months for some that would match our colours plus our new furniture, and then just thought hey lets look here, and there they were. Will be much nicer when we have the rest of our new furniture. The grass came along very nicely, very fertile soil up here. And we have now mowed it twice. It grew really fast after the first mow, especially due to the few days of sun we had. Just want it to bulk up a bit, if you look close you can still see the dirt underneath.
